The plastic post on my AC fan switch has snapped leaving the knob in my hand. New replacement switches are NLA and used ones a bit expensive so I'm looking for an alternative piece.
Assuming that the exterior dimensions fit, is there much, if any, difference between the Ferrari/Borletti switch and a generic 12v three position after market one?

If there are specific specs does anyone know what they are?

    Thanks,
    David

Ton of them on e-bay...ten bucks, universal fit...but no yellow horsey box, though. Jq.

Dont ya hate those unresolved threads?
There was no cheap alternative switch available. It's common to eighties Volvos but they list it at 350$ and its NLA. Brian at T Rutlands found one but my guy in NH Dave "Fastradio" Feinberg found one at the bottom of some drawer and offered it up.
I think that I'll still send the old one in for repair. Can't hurt.
Thanks to everyone who got in touch offering advice and help.

BTW you don't need to remove the console to access the switch. Just take out the radio and go in through there.
