I currently have a GT-R and am considering an F8. I really love the Pista look, however I cannot justify the premium.

This would be a daily driver. I will put miles on it, I am not going to freak out about a stone chip...well after the first one, the first one is very painful.

The "quieter" F8 over some other models won't bother me. I am not going to track it, I won't race it, I won't mod it. I like cars, however it isn't my life. It will be a daily vehicle.

That being said: Can I place an order for a new one and have any chance of getting one or should I look at used. Knowing that this will be a long term car I will put miles on...how do I best get around the "depreciation" hit or what do I look for if I need to go used.

For example I got my GT-R off an executive lease with 3000 miles on it for 25% off. I don't expect that on an F8, however is there anything specific to look for. I know from researching this forum that some don't like the sound or the newer models will have more power etc, so perhaps there will be some opportunities etc.

After doing more research I decided on the F8 over the 488 because of the additional HP and "softer" ride from what I have read. As a daily driver those things are important to me. Also, it takes a close 2nd place to the Pista.

Can the Pista stripes be added by a dealer if you get one without them? I saw that on a few pictures and love that look.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Honestly, I walked into my dealer, placed a deposit and ordered my car. It was a wonderful experience. Car should be in my garage in weeks

I have an F8 and a GTs is my daily. The F8 is softer than the GTs and certainly softer than the GTR. I think it would suit you well as a daily

As long as you can get an allocation you are fine. They are still available.

You can add stripes. Mind you, the S-duct is totally different, so do it differently. Your dealer will have a big book with a ton of stripe options for you to pick and choose. If you do a twin stripe, consider having it go above the front part rather than through the S-duct. The Pista has a big open hole for the stripe to go through, the F8 does not. I don't want to disclose what I'm doing, but take my word for it when I say that bjth my dealer, the Maranello team and myself have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to stripe the F8. One thing we did quickly learn, was that trying to use the S-duct as is done in a Pista is no bueno. It is just so much narrower, shorter and smaller. Simply put, the F8 dies not have the sa e front as a Pista. The massive hole creates a shape where the front bumper part becomes a big bridge the stripe runs under. The F8 duct is tiny by comparison, and not something you can even see down through.

So do it right and tailor the stripes to the car rather than copying something that won't work.

that is exactly what I was worried about, how the lines go through the hood

I saw one picture on here that looked pretty solid with the stripe, however it wasn’t perfect - like the Pista looks perfect with the stripes

I would love to see what you came up with when you are ready to share
