Spotted this toy in the pelican classified section. Http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=489971 Something to drive to the weekend car meets. I know, i know, Its a replica. Pretty cool though.
It'd be cheaper to wear a Porsche golf shirt, Porsche sunglasses, Porsche jacket, Porsche hat, Porsche pants, Porsche driving gloves, and Porsche sneakers.......and you'd get laughed at just as much.
And it might driver better than the original. The real deal needed 'holy water' instead of windshield washer fluid... CH
Looks cool to me...I don't consider a ground up creation a replica in a sense that its dimensions can be taylored to match the original car (sometimes, improved upon). I wouldn't rather have this than an original GT1, but considering the odds of picking a street version of the original up are pretty much zero for mere mortals, I think this is a fine substitute.
just curious, r there actual GT1's for sale? whats the market on those things if at all? for googles, i googled it, looks like a few in europe in the 700 800k range? wow. big duckets.
I think that thing is pretty cool. There is one for sale in Germany now on anamera, price wasn't listed. The originals are no doubt some of the coolest cars ever made.
I like it. Porsche specials, clones and repros aren't as frowned upon as with Ferraris. You could say that no Porsches were killed to make this car and nobody would care one way or the other. Should have used the proper power though. There won't be another one drive up while you're there. The down side is, if one does, you may feel like leaving.
