2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Review | CarEveryday.com This article reveals that Porsche Ag will build (at least) 2,000 units of the new GT3 RS. It also contains this interesting exchange between veteran car tester Georg Kacher and Andreas Preuninger: GK: "Will the GT3 RS at a later stage be available with a manual gearbox?" The man in charge (AP) shakes his head. AP: No. This model is as close as you can get to a race car without losing the road-worthiness certification, Preuninger says. A car like this deserves not only a very special engine and the best chassis but also the fastest transmission. My source has said the same to me all along. And Now the history books can be written. 997 is the last RS model to have a manual transmission, just as you've been saying for many months here. Of course they are ALL special cars with different characteristics for different owners, but all of them share a common theme as owners know so well. Thanks for sharing Joe.
