I find the trim more functional than aesthetic. IMO these cars were built to go on track; mine has. I constantly scrape the front spoiler and have rash on both sides (and the lift is not the 100% solution as a dip in the road or overly aggressive approach to a curb can get low parts at speed). These easily replaceable parts are covered in road rash on my car with only 2 hours total track time and 3000 miles on the street. I don't care. I know the front piece is on the order of $200 and bet the sides are not too bad. If the next owner wants to tear up new ones, I'll just replace them in the event of sale. For now, they hide the rash admirably well and protect the painted surfaces. While I don't like the 21" (or 20" for that matter) wheel selection, I think these black trim pieces are great!
Yes, I love the black trim pieces too. Yes, you are correct, the trim is in fact functional and not for aesthetic effect. However, when I said "Its an aesthetic effect..." I was referring to GuyIncognito's correct observation that the new 991 GT3 RS *appears* to sit high off the ground (not just because of the 21" rears) because of the black trim pieces and the 'aesthetic effect' said black trim pieces create in making the car's ground clearance appear more than it really is. Hope that clears this up.
I'm sorry but the last few pics of 997 RS's confirm how drastically better the older cars look (aesthetically) than the 991 RS. I'll reserve final judgement 'til I see one in the flesh...
That's best looking pic of Lava Orange I've seen, assuming it's LO. I think UV has it beat though...T
Just got back from a 991 GT3RS and F12 ride - wicked cars for sure !!!! Congrats to those that own one. MDS

First one crashed. From the article: Even though the vehicles airbags did not deploy, the impact must have been fairly strong as the suspension has been damaged significantly and all of the wheels are out of wack. There are some burn marks at the back where the engine is which indicates a fire emerged from the engine compartment shortly maybe after the crash. Actually, with the size of the wheels, it would not take much speed or impact-force for this to happen, which is probably the case and underscores why the airbags did not deploy.

FWIW the article suggests the car also caught fire, and if you look at the rear panel, it looks scorched. Image Unavailable, Please Login
USA 991 RS with front lifter deployed. You'll need that. Of more interesting note, this car has been supplied with Dunlops. Word has reached me that the Michelin tire shortage is "temporary". Image Unavailable, Please Login
My spec. I'm still deciding on carbons. Wanted to spec ultraviolet so badly but they're going to stop making them Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
