Just ordered a gt3rs and pretty pumped up. September build.
GT Silver, leather in black/silver, ceramic brakes, clear taillights and about 30 other options!
Also really love that distressed wrap. Super fun.

    The long way home
There is a cynical rumour circulating that the 911R is a test bed for the forthcoming 991.2 GT3 which will see the same, or very similar, 4.0 and manual transmission combo. If this is true, then presumably the 991.2RS would also be available with the manual.

That could make sense. Is the 911R a 991.1 or 991.2?

Gracias. So maybe the 6 speed 991.2 gt3rs might make sense.

The next GT3 will supposedly have an "optional" manual transmission. The next GT3 RS will NOT have a manual option....PDK only.

Here is one of many articles.

2017 Porsche 911 GT3 to Get Manual Gearbox Option - GTspirit

"That said, it has been confirmed that customers will get an option of a six-speed manual gearbox seen in the recently-launched 911 R. However, the more potent GT3 RS will continue with a PDK transmission only."

Also, Andreas Preuninger himself, at the last Rennsport reunion stated the same.

    Congrats on the RS!

Congrats. You will love it. I think silver is a great color for the car.

I love that picture, but surely they could have cropped/photoshopped the containers and station wagon/van out of the background...

This is how far you have to go to upstage a 991 GT3 RS. It's a real 911 GT1 with racing heritage at Porsche Centre Oakville.

The white GT3 RS behind is a one owner car asking $335k CAD ($257k USD in today's money). I can share this, as my wife has already said no. Rather forcibly, I might add.

Shame for me that the market has really woken to how incredible RS' are of any generation. There hasn't been a lacklustre car to wear the RS badge.
