I work from home, so I don't have a lot of required driving in the first place. I do find that I'll look for places to drive the Huracan because I enjoy it so much. I guess I'll have to trade off some, but my guess is the Huracan will still get more miles. It's the convertible thing. If the weather is nice, I want the breeze blowing in my hair and the sound of the exhaust surrounding me.

Agree with convertible thing but now with a gt3 you will want to try out track day and then the miles start adding up....

that's where the Targa checks off a lot of boxes... push button convenience, it's a full magnesium top covered with material, seals well when up ( no wind noise ), wide chassis with all wheel drive and a long list of options... the GTS pkg has grown since it was introduced, yet there are a few options that can be added... while not skewed for the track...there is a lot of value and performance to enjoy the Porsche experience... my needs are tempered by having access to dedicated track cars. there is no need to have a car do double duty

We never track our cars. We have karts that take care of the track experience. I'm not saying we never would. Maybe, but the nearest track is hours away.

Most everyone is at least 2 or 3 hrs drive from track. Don't let that stop your new gt3! Very different from carting. Give it a try

Congrats, had both cars, you couldn't have gone wrong, though the GT3 is more of a drivers car than the turbo, sharper in every regard. You'll either love it, or it will be too harsh/raw and softer/smoother cars like the turbo or the huracan will be more up you ally. The turbo was insane though, best all round car out there IMO. I had winter tires on mine and loved it in the snow. And it pulled harder than any Ferrari or mclaren I have driven.

I do suggest holding both paddles in when you come to a stop. Puts the car in neutral and avoids some of the clunkinies.

Also, I and all my friends that owned the GT3, 100% used the paddles to shift instead of leaving the car in auto when not on track. You will understand when the car is in 7th gear and your're going 4 mph. And sport mode is too aggressive on shifts around town. On the track,I would always leave it in auto, when the revs were high enough.

The PDK-s is the best duel clutch Out there as most non bias car people will admit, like a rifle, something else!

These cars are to be driven and driven hard, your experience will be very different from your 360

Thanks for the tips! Other people have told me the dual clutch is fantastic. I'm looking forward to trying it!

Good God, I hope so! My 360 experience was a nightmare. :)

It's a master piece, it truly is, especially when on the track. It's worth tracking it Jana, for no other reason. I know you track karts instead but there is something so special about taking a track focused car like the GT3 on the track and not needing a trailer. I used to track the hell out of mine, bullet proof, just incredible the beating it could take.

A few other things to be aware of:
    - Randomly on a cold start, quite a bit of smoke comes out of the exhaust, just the norm, nothing to be alarmed about

    - It can be quite jerky in first gear, so shift to second ASAP and again you will likely want to paddle shift and not let the auto do its thing unless on the highway or track

    - It's no torque monster, and it doesn't really come alive until the 4-6K RPM range, which there and up it thrives at

    - Not alot of insulation, so you will hear little rocks pinging on the inside of the wheel wells. There also quite a bit of other mechanical noises you will hear, nothing to be alarmed at just the character of the car.

    - Not sure if your car has the front lift, if not be very careful and angle when going up and down steep inclines, though scraping will be unavoidable at times

Other than that, car is quick, agile, steering is awesome, car can put the power done in a big way with huge amount of traction. Feels much smaller than it looks, the seating position is perfect, you will feel very connected to the chassis.

All and all a sick car, highly addictive, a true drivers car and the nice thing, most people unless real car enthusiasts just see it as another 911, so while you will get some attention, it's from enthusiasts and over all much less so than a Ferrari or your lambo(read your crazy following story, sorry to hear). A welcome change, I would think.

If you want to make the sound louder/more aggressive, simply remove the center muffler, and go with a bipass, like sharkwerks.

Personally, I took out the side mufflers and replaced them with bipasses and it transformed the cars sound even more so. I loved it.

Feel free to PM me on any questions that come up, I was quite familiar with my car to say the least.

    And again congrats, great choice!

Awesome information! Thanks so much! Our GT-R is a track pack, so I'm used to the noise. I figure it will be about the same. It does have the front life (so does the Huracan), and I love that feature. We have a huge curb on our drive that is a big pain. We do the sideways entry but the cars without the lift feature still drag a bit. I'm looking forward to decent leg room. The Germans definitely make cars for tall people with long legs. :)

They're replacing rocker covers because they had rock chips and had to order them in, so it looks like we'll pick up next Tues or Wed. Really looking forward to it!

We'll consider the track thing. We've driven cars on the track at those pay-for experiences, but just never our own.

It is a track edition GT-R, but we've never went to an event with the car. Just lucked out and found one. Our isn't fast enough to cross the country on event tracks. We've done a stage 1 at Jotech and will do stage 2 in the fall.

Just watched top gear with huracan spider. Wow is that a gorgeous car! They compared it to ptts cab which looked like a bathtub in comparison

That's true. I met my husband racing motocross and it was the same then, especially given that it was twenty + years ago.

It's an incredible car, but yes, the leg room is definitely limited. And you can fit a backpack and that's it in the trunk. So it's not a weekend trip sort of car, unless you have short legs and are going alone and can put an overnight bag in the passenger seat. LOL

Finally picked up the car yesterday evening. Didn't have a lot of time to spend with it and it's pouring rain today, so I've only done minimal driving.

Initial thoughts: I love the seats. I have those highly adjustable ones. Love the leg room, especially compared to my other cars. Now, on to the performance. I think the transmission is awesome! It's seamless in manual or automatic. But what I'm most impressed with is the handling. There's no sway or body roll. No flex. You can corner at high speeds without fear of the car breaking loose. My 360 had slight understeer and I never trusted it enough to push it harder.

    So far I'm loving it!

Depends on what you're basing the assessment on. Bang for your buck 0-60, it's impossible to beat a GT-R.

But since I have both, I'm good. :)

Total involvement. Quality, sound, steering, fun, acceleration. I just haven't found anything the GT3 isn't amazing at.

With both though you have two of the best value performance cars on the market there is no doubt!! Add a Z06 and you have the best 3!

Source: my dad owns one and I drive it frequently as he drives my cars frequently.

ive had gt3 and gtr and I liked gtr more for everything, street and track, except for the sound. but a straight midpipe did make the gtr sound decent.
