I have daily driven a Challenger Hellcat for the last 2 years and 28,000 miles and I absolutely love it! I drove Summer before last on Nitto 555R's so traction wasn't an issue. I went to the 1/4 mile track aired them down, ran a 10.8 aired them back up and drove home. Not very many cars can do that and none for $65,000.00. I have a 10 second factory car with a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Love it!
GT350 hands down and I haven't owned a Ford in 40 years. Flat plane crank that loves to rev, what's not to love!!!!!
wow thats some report on zl1. fixed all the over heating problems of z06 and almost as fast with a back seat and 40% $ discount! way faster than shelby. as fast as 650s! totally unreal
now if only they can figure out how to fit all those radiators into vette chassis. and while theyre at it add some heavy downforce aero. call it zr1. too bad acr viper is gone. those 2 would have some epic track battles
Wow! What a car. I'm loving that America "finally" is producing cars like this. Faster lap time than a Porsche 911 Turbo S!?...in a Camaro...no longer is this the Camaro in Rockford Files...or an IROC Z. I'll take one with a 6-speed manual thank you.
I just took delivery of my white 2017 Camaro ZL1 (manual trans) It's now my new favorite American car (displacing the Viper, Hellcat Challenger and anything from Ford). In fact, it might be my new favorite car, period. YES ... it's that good.
Thanks! But the ability to take pix (beyond that from a throw-away kodak, with film) and post them is, sadly, beyond my pay grade It's white just recently filmed, head-to-toe, for chip/stone protection. The ONLY thing i'd consider changing, is even shorter rear gears. I picked 3.73 with the 6-speed manual (it may be the only choice, with manual, i'm not sure). But i'd easily go to 4.10 (4.11) with 6 forward gears ...
First thing to be aware of ... recommended break-in period: don't exceed 4000 RPM for 1500 miles. 1500 miles !!?? (yeah, i'm one of those dopes who reads and follows the owner's manual ) Second thing to note : visibility is not 'great'. Side windows are 'short', visibility through rear is also 'narrow'. Not so bad as to limit safety or enjoyment, just a bit different than many cars nowadays. That about sums-up the negatives! I really love this machine ... but it needs 4.10 gears in the rear clearly, something to be changed AFTER that break-in period ... EDIT : something very interesting ... the owner's manual dedicates more pages to tracking the car (preparation, fluid levels and changes, tire pressures, other settings, etc for taking the car to the track) than any other owner's manual i've seen
How tall are you? I'm 6'3" and find the new Camaro a little awkward sitting in as the visibility is limited by windshield rake. I considered Gen5 Z/28 until I sat in it. The windshield frame limited visibility quite a bit.
I'm 6' even (maybe half an inch shorter, it happens as you age LOL). Front visibility is no issue for me, but I can see how 3" makes a difference.
Very impressive! I had my reservations but the more videos I watch on this car, the more I like it. Looks really nice in photos, interior too. Tempting!!
