Hi, I know this has been discussed to death, but can anyone tell me if the badge is on the same side of the car, between Right hand drives and Left hand drives? or were they always on the same side of the car, no matter where in the world it was delivered. cheers, Anthony.
Hi Anthony Like a lot of things with Ferrari's there's no definitive 100%correct answer to this question! I have checked my extensive Ferrari library collection, including original factory brochures and original magazine roadtests of left and right hand drive cars from the time. To the best of my information: Early series 1 cars had the Bertone badge on the left hand side rear on both LHD and RHD cars.(As pictured in magazine roadtests from Motor and Autocar magazines in May 1974 and September 1974 editions) With the later series 1 cars onwards cars it appears that RHD cars definetly had the badge on the RH side specifically....however my 1977 Factory gt4 brochures show both US and LHD cars with the Bertone badge on the RH side too! I have also seen cars I know are 100%factory original with the Bertone badges on both sides(RHD)! Keith Bluemel in his book "Original Ferrari V8" says the badge was on the RH side on all cars, and shows pics. of LHD and RHD cars with the badge in the RH side! Confusing aint it??....we have the same issues with 308 GTB/S cars too!!! Hope this helps, Cheers Pete
