I just had a rear brake calliper come loose on the GT4. About 2000 miles since rebuild.
Last year a friend had one come loose. He thought it was his mistake. I don't think I left anything loose so now I wonder if there is there an issue with these calliper bolts.
It wasn't a problem but it could have been bad.
The callipers had been refurbished and painted so I wonder if paint under the bolt caused a problem, or is there a vibration issue. The car has been tracked since the rebuild so the brakes have done some hard work. Any ideas please.

A dry bolt of the proper grade should stay tight if torqued to the right setting.

That said, best to use some lock washers or, alternatively, a small dab of locktite blue.

on my trackcars i always made it a habit to apply locktite on each and every bolt/nut. Some times its a pain in removing them again but i never had one single one came loose unintended.

In your case paint below the bolt combined with pretty extreme temperatures (of this paint) could well be the cause.

Thanks Guys. I've never had this before but now I have I will go down the loctite route.
I keep several of the different grades. The light blue thread locker should be OK.
