I'm getting my GT4 resprayed (again) and it's going back to the original silver. I've owned it over 30 years and the interior is the one area I've never touched so it's time to sort that out too.

The seats are blue vinyl (I think) with blue cloth inserts with an off-white stitching, and I plan to retain the look and colours although I want to use leather rather than the vinyl. I wondered if anyone here knew of any source (ideally in Europe) for the cloth? A source for the carpet material would be good too.

    Many thanks.

Thank you. I resprayed it blue at a time when everyone was respraying them red. Well, everyone has a red Ferrari, don't they?

It's actually been blue now for longer than it was silver.

The wheels are 16" Compomotives but I am thinking of the Dino style 16" Superfomance ones which would match the original look better.

I remember YEARS ago, Maranello Classic Parts in the UK had complete, red cloth insert panels in stock. The guy who worked for them - can't remember his name - used to post items like that on a regular basis here and one of the photos was that.

I have no idea if they have other colours in stock, but it's worth a try in contacting them.

I think Alcantara would be a close, modern substitute if they don't have those (blue) panels in stock.

I think this material would be correct. I think when these were released it was called ultra suede. Alcantara is pretty much the same thing. Just a matter of finding the right color.

    Can anybody confirm this?

Alcantara certainly looks like the right thing. I've ordered some samples and will see.

I'm no expert and photos lie, but your fabric actually looks great. Did you talk to anyone about re-using it or restoring it? It may even be repairable if tears are on stitch lines.

Sticking in an opinion where it's not asked but I think silver will look correct but I also think blue is right for these cars.... blue on blue is tasty

Unfortunately there are two holes in one of the rear seats (not pictured) and the guy who's going to retrim it thought it would be a problem to repair, but yes it might be an option. I will definitely salvage the cloth for posterity if nothing else.

I'm not sure how many variations on interiors there are for GT4s, but years ago a friend who has restored many Dinos said he hadn't seen another like mine. Pretty much all those that were retrimed went to all leather in Tan or Crema so they have been lost anyway.

The silver looks great, I love the blue too and there's also a lighter metallic blue which looks sensational. Personally I'm not a fan of red or yellow on the GT4 and white is awful, but you may have a different opinion!

In the days before the internet when I first had this car repainted it was near impossible to see one that wasn't red, so imagining what it would look like from a paint chip was quite a stretch. I very nearly just had it repainted in silver then.

I am going with Alcantara 9041 Steel Blue. Looks like a perfect match.

Might want to check out Relicate.com. They offer hides matched to Alcantara colors.

That striped blue carpet has been discussed here before.
It's pretty rare in the Ferraris, from a certain vendor.

The one member in Italy that might can help with the source is "Albert_LP", I hope he does not mind me mentioning him!!

The car is stripped now and the metal is being repaired, replaced and reshaped where necessary. Actually it's pretty solid.

Looks like I should sort out the horn, fans and spot lights too. Anyone happen to know whether the Superperformance replacement Carello spots fit this type of housing?

PS. Is it not possible to display external images inline on this site?

Don't allow the seat trimmers to "fix" the padding in the seats. Just a simple refurbishing with the wrong style of modern materials, will cause your hair to rub the headliner all about town.

Do you have a Maranello part number? They swear blind they haven't sold any for years.

Just for the record the seat inserts are real wool velour. My Dino has the whole face of the seats in this material, both pattern and color.

Still need to source the carpet and the front spot lights. If not I will have to go with something similar.

Hoping to get some boot carpet from Adrian fairly soon.
