This is the mirror on my car. It was also on certain Fiats. It only came with one. I THINK I would like one on the right side as well. I found some on a Polish website (similar to amazon where they middle deals and connect you with a seller). After having a Polish friend translate the site, it turns out the site wants CC info to charge me to put me in contact with the seller(s); I'm not ok with that. Anyone have a domestic or more reliable source for these? Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd try one of the Fiat/Alfa Romeo parts suppliers first, like: - International Auto Parts (http://www.international-auto.com/) - Vick Autosports (http://www.vickauto.com/newstore/) - Bayless (http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/storefrontprofiles/default.aspx?sfid=208227) - Chris Obert's Fiat Plus (http://www.fiatplus.com/) Don't quote me on this, but I could have sworn I'd seen this style of mirror on a Fiat 124 Coupe... Probably early 124 Spiders had them as well...
Yes It is a Fiat part, used on 124's and 128's .......from memory it was made by Vitaloni?(Sadly now gone..... They appear on Fleabay quite regularily also if you search on "Vitaloni" Hope this helps, Peter
The Cromodora Astro III as used on the GT4 was sold on the Fiat X1/9 in 1974, and possibly a few years after that. It was occasionally greyish rather than shiny chrome. There were a couple european cars that used a similar mirror, but I forget which. No other US Fiats. No US Alfas, either - similar mirror but no the same, with the Alfa emblem embossed on the back. The early Fiat 124 line (coupe, sedan and spider) used a Vitaloni mirror of a different shape - more trapazoidal than rectangular. The vitaloni has a triangular base, absolutely different than the Astro. Later 124s/2000s moved to a flag style mirror, then a through-the-glass mirror like a late X1/9. Some 124 Sedans had a more rectangular mirror that I think was aftermarket and not an option from Fiat, but it too is quite different, much larger and thinner than a cromodora astro. Chris Obert is likely your best bet for this one... the bigger guys (IAP, etc) aren't likely to carry this stuff anymore
you might also try posting in the forum parts wanted section of mirafiori.com I am a FIAT guy and I never saw that mirror used on any spider, there is an X19 specific forum at xwebforums.org as well, they ought to know and maybe someone there would have one.
I tried and couldn't find any posted on ebay. Could you post a link? I am looking for a left and right mirror. Thanks.
I found a Cromodora side mirror for my GT4...only problem is it was used on a Fiat and has the wrong triangular base. Here is a pic of what I have and also a pic of the base that I need. It is oval shaped. The two mounting studs in the base I need have to be 3" apart. The "eyeball" cup on the end of the arm is 23mm. Does anybody have an old broken mirror with a good base or a source for the base. I know these mirrors are hard to find. So I thought that I would acquire what I could and piece it together. -Pat Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like I am going to have to fabricate a mirror base. It would be very nice to have the original to copy. Does anybody have an original Cromodora side mirror base that they would part with for a week and let me copy? I would be very greatful! Turn around should be quick. Pat
I think I have a cheap repro Astro III that has a decent chrome base. The quality of the base is acceptable, the quality of the mirror itself was low. I'll check the garage tomorrow and let you know. Jonathan the Fiat RN Denver, CO
Jonathon was nice enough to send me a Chinese reproduction he had to copy. We just finished the mirror base. Here are some pics of the aluminum base we made. First pics are the new parts followed by Jonathon's Chinese copy. I just have to drill and tap some holes in the receiver for the base plate and fabricate a rubber gasket. Verell, I can send you Jonathon's part. He said no problem, but you still will need to source an original mirror as the Chinese repro has a different size ball end. It is about .030 smaller in diameter. I will send you a PM. The guy I found my Cromodora Astro III mirrors is located in Athens, Greece. His website on Ebay is Rubiossa's Treasures. That is his Ebay name as well. One week ago he said he had three of them left. The two I purchased were brand new in the original wrapper for 99.00 US each. Keep in mind it does not have the correct base, but the mirror and stalk are correct. You will have to fabricate your own base to mount it to the GT4. I send some more pics when all is said and done. It is nice having the correct period and original mirrors on the car. They look great. This has been an interesting thread. This gt4 parts car on eBay has the mirror. Maybe the seller will sell the mirror seperately. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1975-Ferrari-308-Dino-GT4-project-car-low-miles-rebuilt-trans-/250981361647?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a6fa7a7ef
Anybody who needs an original early GT4 side mirror should buy it while it lasts on Ebay. They are getting hard to find. This is a pic with the old black plastic electric POS that was on the car when I bought it. Image Unavailable, Please Login

They look great and I would be interested in two. /Pero

Patrick, Please tell Jonathan I just received his mirror in good condition. Had a bout with that week long bug that's going around, as a result, things have got a tad hectic here this week. Thus it'll be early next week before I can look at it & make that mold of the base. No luck searching eBAY for those Chromodoro mirors, or for Rubiossa's Treasures (altho I'm not quite sure how to search for a seller's name).
Check out this link... http://www.fiatplus.com/screw-on-outside-mirror-c-10621-p-5-pr-281244.html. The mirror marked "Kingmirror" bears a strong resemblance to the Chromodora, even the base. Description seems to indicate that it is available in chrome also. Image Unavailable, Please Login
