Hi all, got my clocks out of the dashboard to replace an oil pressure gauge and decided to replace all the bulbs while im at it as one on the tach and speedo is burned out. They are old copper type ones and as far as I can see it says 8w. There is also small plug in types in the speedo and they are 1.2w and can source these no problem. Does anyone know where I can find the 8w ones or know the number or type? I have tried a search and all I find is plug in led bulbs which I don't want. Thanks
Read through these threads about brighter bulbs. Ignore the tendancy to digress into leds. I did an advanced search limited to the 308 forum for the words 'brighter bulbs'. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257991 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231218 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194375 As far as "where I can find them", my knowledge of Scottish stores is limited to C & A.
Hi Stephen. Better get yourself to Specsavers. Those are 3 watt lamps. Just replace them with 4 watt lamps available from anywhere that sells car parts.
3w! lol Thank heavens you told me, there probably would have been a funny burning smell in due coarse! Thanks guys this gives me a start.
I opted for an upgrade to white led bulbs for my dash lights, fitted them tonight and although they are bright and a lot of people like them, for my personal taste, I can't get used to them, there is a blue sort of white that comes from them and I think would look great on a modern car, I know Im being picky here, but for me, I think the age of the car doesn't suit them, so I put some 4w bulbs in, cleaned up my dimmer switch with some electrical cleaner and wow! a very noticeable difference;-)))
