Purchased Paul's large electrical diagram, at least now I can see what is supposed to be where.

Now my quandry. I found the wire coding going into the rear window defrost is NOT what it shows on the wiring diagram. Don't know if a previous owner misplaced the wires to the wrong spot or if the wire coding changed with the ongoing years.

My car is a 1979 GT4, (15086), would someone out there with a late GT4 please pull up there rear demist switch on the center console and tell me what colored wires are going to the switch.

Also going by the wire colors from the fuse box to the relays it appears the horn relay, if I go by the wire color coding, is on the top row all the way to the right. The earlier owners manual I have shows it on the lower row 3rd in from left.

So would a later GT4 owner please advise on the location. My owners manual is 1975. I've seen the later yellow and red owners manual advertised but I didn't think there would be a significant difference. If you have a later manual or car could you send me the relay locations and for what circuit. Maybe the GTBs and GTSs are the same as the late GT4.???

    I HATE ELECTRICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks
    Cal

According to the 1979 GT4 shop manual, horn relay is second from left second row down. The top row right shows 'day or night flashing' relay.

Re: heated rear window...all wiring drawings I have show red/black wire and black ground which also goes to the dome light & switch. The GT4 wiring drawing you have was made before I adapted the custom of adding the tracer color and only shows a red wire, not red/black. The console switch should also have a red/black from fuse #4 and red/black to the window plus a black wire which is used internally for the indicator lamp to show the heater is on.

What color wire do you have to the switch?

Just a thought as you haven't added your car to your profile (hint hint helpful when you ask questions about your car). We are talking 308 GT4 and not 365 GT4 right?
