I could use a little help here. Would anyone mind going out to the garage and taking a look at your oil cooler? I'm double checking the routing of the fresh air hose that goes from the area of the body intake to the cooler.

Starting from the top of the cooler you have a accordian hose connected.
The other end of that hose runs in the direction of the left body "intake hole". It is attached to the underside of the engine bay opening by a small bracket.

My question; is that hose attached to anything at the intake end? Unattached in the general area of the air intake? What?

I appreciate you taking the time.

    Hi
The intake end is attached to an aluminum 'pipe' that bridges the gap between the hose and the end of the intake hole in the body. The 'pipe' is attached to the drip edge (around the hood opening) by a screw and nut. I don't have any pictures handy, can do some Wed night for you? It is a similar arrangement to the air intake.

I assumed it was like the air intake. Mine is not connected.

I can't find the "pipe" in any of the parts books. I think, but I'm not sure, it is #40038705 which is the plastic or fiberglass piece that the fuel filler pipe comes up through.

If you don't mind, and you have the time Wednesday night, I'd really like the pictures.
    Thanks for offering Gerrit.

    Hi
the parts (both oil and air) intake pipes are not anywhere to be seen in the Parts Manual (I only checked the 1979 one)! The part you listed is not related.
I will take some photos tonight. If you need dimensions, it will ahve to wait until next week so I can remove the item and measure it up/make a pattern or whatever. I know it is aluminum, and it is two halves joined by a seam.

Thanks Gerrit. No need to remove yours. I think mine has been cut. After looking closely it appears that the correct part is indeed there but about 3" of it is missing. I'm trying to track down one as we speak.

You're right the part I listed isn't related.

On my car - April 1975 build date - this "tube/pipe" is molded one-piece fibreglass mat.
