    As many of you know I recieved a silver award for my gt4 a CI at monterey. I got my judging sheets today and was amused as several things incorrect with my car were not marked off but two things i thought were original were.

    1. My front and rear hood grills are a dark gray antrachite metallic finish. The PO who painted the car said that he did not paint them and they were original? I was marked off as wrong color.....What color are yours????

    2. I was marked off for having incorrect plating on my front hood latches and pins, the latches are a plated zinc and the best I remember the pins are also, if any of you would respond I would appreciate it?

    I am switching internet providers and am having a real hard time connecting so I apologise in advance if I have not responded to any posts. I should have a new cable connection by next week!

    unbeleievably no, I did have the documentation showing them as an option in europe, so at least i had some documentation there, but I am sure the hood vents are original. I will post the judging sheets later tonight

    1. mine are semi-gloss black. I have seen countless gt4's the same as well.

    2. zinc plated, every one I have seen.

    3. U Da Man Robert! Next year is gold.

    My front hood latches are zinc plated (bright silver in color when new) and my front and rear grills are a dark gray antrachite metallic finish just like your grills. At some point in time my front grill was painted over in a semi gloss black which has now almost all peeled off.

    BTW, congrats on your award, all too often we GT4 owners are told to "park in the back" at these events.

    My grills showing the gray metallic color. The front grill had been painted black at one time, the rear grill is untouched.

    Dom, my grills are matt black but according to the book "Original Ferrari V8" the 208 GT4 for the Italian market had the plain aluminum grills on the car. Perhaps they ran out of the black ones at the factory that day and installed the 208GT4 grills. This wouldn't be uncommon as my car shares several Euro parts, for example my air box is Euro.

    The front latches on my car are "silver" zinc plaited but the actual pins are just raw metal unplated, including the spring.

    nope!!
    20 would be tops and it would have to be perfect with FFSH, tank of juice, new top grade tyres, suspension, steering rack , exhaust all just recently replaced
