I brought home a GT4 yesterday that my Son found while searching. He plans on driving it for the next few years etc. I had a very good Porsche dealer experience and a great drive home with it (340 miles, 22.2MPG @ 78MPH average). The car is laid-out well, and it seems to do everything right. In comparison with my previous Porsches (996 GT3 included) this one checks all the right boxes (as I have grown to expect from Porsche).

Power is ample, the sounds from this car are sublime. The shifter position (which I was on the fence about originally) is actually fantastic. It rained for the last portion of the way home but it did not seem to mind. I will get a chance to explore the car more shortly as my Son wont come to collect it for another month or so.

For anyone considering a GT4 feel free to ask any question. I will check it out & cover the details. Speaking of details... This one has the LWB (lightweight bucket seats) and I can tell you that they are real deal racing seats with just a touch additional of padding. They are somewhat adjustable & suited me pretty well on my four hour non-stop jaunt. No complaints here.

    Bravo Porsche.

I saw your post on BAT as I'm in the market. I haven't sat in the LWB though and am wondering how they'll fit my 6'2" 200# frame. I plan to autoX it, and monthly 3 hour drives. Your thoughts?

Also, do you mind sharing what your son paid relative to MSRP? Looking for additional data points. Feel free to PM if you'd prefer. Thank you.

Most of my GT P cars have lwbs, however, I've also had some sofas. I find both comfortable, however, you should spend some time driving one with lwbs before committing. Some peeps find them quite uncomfortable.

If they work for you, all the better. They seem to connect you to the car like no other.

Sigar ~ Jamie is probably right. But if I were a betting man (I am) I would say your size (same as my Son) will suit these seats like you would hope. They can be adjusted for rake manually though a set of bracket bolts, and the other common adjustments allow you to get it set to please. In my Stradale I actually carry a small extra pillow for my lower back (yeah I am old like that) for any trip over an hour. These GT4 seats did not seem to need that (and I just drove it right off the dealer lot). I am sure I can dial them in even more if I took the time (but I will save that for my Sons preference). Good seats these!

Very nice. I would go with the black Fuchs for a retro look. Easier to clean as well.

    Looking at the following:
Local GT4 in my preferred color (white), MSRP $99K, $8K in upgrades (roll bar, harnesses, etc.), 8.5K miles. Asking $103K. Deal, par or expensive?

My personal opinion is $99k is a sell price on that car. White is uber-desirable but the bolt-ons are no add-on in resale value. Good miles, close to you & the color that you want. Treat yourself, the value is there. These are special experiences.

That’s what I’m seeing MSRP or a little less. If it has LWBs MSRP or a little more.

Congratulations Michael! You guys should make trip down to Springfield. The GT4 is truly an amazing car. It was the first new car I ever got and it is easily my favorite MT car I have ever driven.

Pulled the trigger, right at/just over MSRP- carbon buckets, plus $8K of track bits

Really enjoying it - can’t wait to stretch it out on track.

Me too! GT Silver, with LWB, PCCB and 4,000 miles. Paid a little over MSRP of $107K. Very happy with purchase. This car is soooooo much fun!

And, to follow up on my concerns above about fitting in the car and comfort of the LWBs, no problem at all. I'm 6'-3" and I have to pull the seat forward a good 6" or more from the stops to reach the pedals. Also, plenty of headroom for a helmet. The buckets are quite comfortable. No complaints.

The car is PTS Gulf Blue. The orange and black striping and gulf logos are vinyl wrap. Then clear bra over the graphics.
