I think Rob means get as close as you can without bumping as this will slow you down.

If the opposings cars do not close on you in the 1st half of the straight away so you can draft, then you are going to take the "BUMP" on the last half. The bump is just like in NASCAR (you're even turning left on this track!!!!). Have the opponent hit, or "bump" you from behind when they attempt to make the pass. They tend to dive to the left trying to pass. When they hit you, you will get a boost of speed to about 172mph. DO NOT hit them....let them hit you.

    Hope that makes more sense.

I did it a few months ago so I cant remember. When I get home later today, I'll try it again and then I'll back to ya. All I really remember is that at first it was hard but after a few tries I got it pretty easily.

Has anyone driven the Toyota Prius? Its slow as hell but its fun to watch your average mpg and how the battery and engine work together.

OK I tried it again. I forgot how badly the Superbird handles. Its a piece of crap in anything but a straight line.
I'm sure you figured this out all ready but always brake in a straight line. Turning and braking at the same time dont work with the Superbird. Also, get through the kink right before the main straight as quickly and cleanly as possible. If you screw that up you just blew a lot of time and track.
One thing I did on the uphill straight with the 2 jumps was after the last jump I braked hard. I probably slowed down to much, but on every lap I either passed the car in front of my while I was still in the turn or I caught up with the other car before the next turn. And I didnt try to do anything in the tight twisting section after the 2 jumps and before the back straight. There just isnt enough room to do anything in there. I always tried to pass before that section so you dont have to worry about hitting any cars or have to drive slower than you want too, so you dont hit anything.
I cant remember my braking point for the back stretch right before you go over the train tracks. I'll have to get back to you on that. Obviously dont hit any walls or cars because of that stupid 5 sec. penalty. That drives me nuts. Hope that helps. If anyone else has suggestions please let us know.

I had a very nice weekend regarding advancements in my game. I completed the Superbird mission, and also did the one in Monaco with the Lancia Stratos.

After completing the Superbird mission, I had to investigate the '62 Buick Special that starts in the lead. I bought one, and holy crap, for model year 1962, this thing hauls A$$! Of course I had to modify it, so it now has over 800bhp. Wicked!

You mean the Monaco Mission? It took about a handful of attemps before completing it, which makes it one of the easier ones. Do not overestimate the Stratos' brakes - especially coming out of the tunnel, where the swimming pool would be in real life. It is very easy to carry too much speed into that and completely mess it up. Also, when you come into the hairpin - brake nice and early while hugging the wall on the outside, downshift to 1st, and just let it roll around the hairpin, while clipping the apex. You have to be very smooth, don't overdrive the car. The Stratos is one of the few lower-powered cars that actually has some guts in 1st gear, so don't be afraid to use it in the slower sections. I think you will find it to be easy once you attempt it a few times.

I tried the Skyline mission on the large oval, and have not figured that one out yet either. If you figure it out, share some pointers with me.

If you look at Lemke's thread above, he describes the Superbird mission well.

I checked out that site listed above - excellent! Of course, I just hit the mission where I am racing Beetle Cup cars around Suzuka, and of course there is no video of it on that site.

Anyone have any tips for this one?????

I will have to try this one tonight. I also noticed that whenever a car comes up from behind, he moves right out of the way to let him by cleanly. Also, on the curves, sometime he hugs the line way down low..........I assume he does this at certain points to keep the following cars out of his slipstream.

I was wondering which one you guys prefer.
I have both the Shelby Cobra and the AC Cars 427 S/C. The Shelby cranks out more power but has a lower top speed. The S/C has less power but a higher top speed. I think (and this is just personally preferance) that the S/C is more controllable at the limit so I tend to race with it more. Plus it comes in more than one color. I was just wondering which one you guys like better.

I dont think so. On the turns you need the cars in your slipstream so that on the straights they will pass you and give you a toe. I tried running on the bottom of the turns because of the shorter distance but it didnt work for me.

I read somewhere that they found the Buick Special at a car show somewhere. It won some contest and so they put it into the game. I dont know if its true or not so take it for what its worth. It is a great car though. Looks so nice.

if u watched the vid, he did that trick on the last lap, final corner after overtaking the yellow skyline. it was on purpose, as he didn;t want the guy to use his slipstream and overtake him.
