I may make it out....last drive of the season. I've only been out 4 times this year :(
Me? Not this time my friend, sorry. (Although I get the strong feeling you weren't talking to me in the first place...)
When did this happen. You should have looked way behind you and told him it must have fallen off I heard some story that zip ties are considered temporary and don't count as being attached. I have this retractable plate holder which I may throw on. Now that I mention the no front plate it's Murphy's Law and I'll get nabbed
I'm gonna try and make it out with the 308 and my brother will be bringing out his 246. That's 2 more on the list
I'll show up to take photos at the start with my new lens, and see my car again If breakfast is from My Place restaurant nearby you won't be disappointed! Lastly for those of you coming along the QEW East bound to the Parklawn exit, there is often radar along that lovely long ramp. Gerrit
It may have snowed in Barrie this morning but tomorrow the weather will be perfect for driving; overcast (no glare) and dry! Here's the latest from the weather network. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You won't believe this. I actually got pulled over about an hour ago for not having the front plate! I got a caution, that was it. Police officer was really nice, we had a good discussion about the Highway Traffic Act and what constituted "secure". Durham Regional Police are a class act. Every run in I've had has been professional and excellent. Things I learned: 1.If you have ordered a front plate holder, have the invoice in the car. 2.Zip ties are fine, because in their opinion it's just as secure as bolts. 3.The trend now is to caution the first time, make a note on system, and then ticket you the second time. But as I said, a decent guy and we had a good and informative chat about things. So I guess I should zip tie the front plate on tonight as with my luck I'll get pulled over tomorrow
Tomorrow should be fun, all. I am including the first page of the rally as it contains some important info. I'll be on Fchat a lot tonight so feel free to PM me or reply if you have any questions. We had an officer pull into a parking lot we met up at for a FCA drive. He let us know he counted 10 cars with no front plates & suggested we display plate on sunvisor.
The guy who pulled me over said no. It had to be displayed clearly at the front, and he said their interpretation was the dash is not on the front. He said even temp permits no longer go on your windshield, but now get attached to the back of the car, so he's not having to pull people over thinking a car is unplated, only to then see a temp sticker on the front windshield. Sorry, I had forgotten to mention that. Thanks for reminding me. I am stuck at home as my CEL slowdown light went on for 1-4. Sigh.... Hope you guys are having fun.
At least he did not ticket anyone. But it's frustrating that we never get the same message from more than one cop. I was told that would not fly....
Big thanks to Esteban, Walter, John, Mario, Tony. Amazing route and very scenic. Sorry I had to join in late and leave at lunch due to work. Rocco
