Very nosey. Its too bad Bob had to come on here and publicly share this story. Why? Well it was all because of someone who had the decency (SARCASM) to post this on his or her facebook. You see, there should be satisfaction that everything is ok. There is no coverup here. There was nothing to coverup. Apparently a firetruck recently went off in the same spot that got Bob. You never know who is on these forums, whether law enforcement or insurance companies. I'd had for something to happen to someone by their insurance company or what have you. Chris
Bob, glad you're well. Man, the site of that 993TT just drives me nuts!!! I need one now! And that Espada... *drool*
I whole-heartedly agree with you. Also, stemming off what you said about insurance, that is a good reason for license plate numbers to be edited out on cruise photos, especially on track day photos.
Good luck with that! Some of us have been here for years debating the plate pic thing. I agree they should be blurred even though it aint a rule here. But sooo many are posted that I just gave up a long time ago...
I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S JCW. It's a Monte Carlo Edition: http://mc40.com/ After I brought it up from Miami, I did the John Cooper Works package, then some interior work, a lot of items from Moss Mini like a Cobalt Skid Plate. Yes, I belong to the SOMC. But I haven't been to an event in a year or so. First time we did the Rattler run, it was carnage! Someone lost control, skidded into a pond, another clipped a rock. It was a lot of fun. I have a 1967 MGB as well. So I decided to not get a Classic Mini as I wanted something old, something new kind of thing. But a lot of the parts you would see in an MG, you can see in Mini's.
Unless it's a claim, there is nothing the insurance company can do. And you can post you did 200K in a school zone, and there is not a lot the police can do. Unless you want to walk down to the station, sign an affidavit, etc. Now if you were to make a video doing that, like that kid in Japan did, then that's a whole different story. I wouldn't be embarrassed about ditching the car, if I knew it was out of my control. But the idea that somehow these guys are a bunch or reckless drivers is so far out in left field, I have to both laugh and shake my head at the accusation. I'd like to take my son on a drive, and I would have no concerns what so ever about the other Ferrari drivers. I am more concerned driving on the 401 with the rest of the rat race than a planned Ferrari drive.
I think I'd not want to post my plates if I had the car on the track. The insurance company will not insure the car if used in a race, or a track. Either way, I don't see the harm in hiding plates. Privacy, I don't know.
By far the best event Ive attended yet! Thanks to all who organized and attended this drive. Full set of pictures can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/carbon_photography/sets/72157625107862211/ The final group shots I took from the roof can be found near the bottom of the second page. Hope you guys like shots. Janees
ahhhh - wrong - you can get charged if a police officer here sees that and they will hunt you and charge you ... you are admitting guilt. you should not be giving this advice.
Wasn't there an article about some guys in an M5 or E55 in York Region who filmed themselves speeding on the residential streets who were caught off the video ? The OPP program "ERASE" has a task force specifically for targeting street racing, these guys look on Youtube, facebook etc for culprits. I would be careful when it comes to posting videos on the internet, you don't know who's watching!

Saying you killed someone does not mean you are guilty of murder. It may get you charged with something else though I had a good discussion with my OPP neighbour about this. What he said is if you say you are speeding, that is not specific enough to charge you. Where did the infraction take place? What time of day? And what speed do we charge you with? Is it a major conviction or a minor conviction? Saying you are speeding is not specific enough, amoung other things. That, and I just got off the phone with to a traffci ticket specialist we deal with at work. Just to be absolutely sure. They said they would not brag about it, but it's not going to end up getting you charged. But I guess they don't know what they are doing either. Call X-Coppers or Pointts next time before commenting on whose advice is right.
I agree. Videos yup. Specifics yes. But general comments no sweat. Not like any of us really do this anyway.
See about 15 seconds into this video. This was the video I was thinking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctI4Pf0IyaQ 320K on a highway!
Great pics. Who is the little guy between the cars? He looks like he had fun. My son is seven and he wants to come on a ride as well.
Serious kid--I could not get him to smile. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ahhh yes....the good old F40 highway video. This has been around for 20 years, and is an original piece of 'reality' car video, before the likes of SPEEDTV and Youtube! ... A Classic!! Here are some of my other favourite highway videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cw7v8Dka6c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw-59o7RUlo
If you want to talk about a classic - this is a true CLASSIC . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DSyEarRAKo
