I've seen that car for a while. I'd be extremely suspicious as there's not one picture of the interior or the engine. If it were a first time seller I might understand, but from a car dealer...there's a reason why they're not showing you any shots of those features.

sorry doug, not correct - your thinking glass cars.

All steel versions of the 308 GTS have a conventional wet-sump engine while GTB models retained the dry sump lubrication until 1981.

Yes, and to be even more complete: only the Euro GTB's had the drysump engine (fibreglass and steel).
But this car is a US version for sure, looking at the rear undervalance/exhaust diaper/side markers.
Maybe a drysump engine was added later, but no pics so I'm going to say it's probably a standard US spec (except Euro bumpers) wet sump car.

    correct -

i see the side markers and undervalance, if the car has been here, i figured it was converted - but retained the small bumpers. the add says, kms not miles, and a eruopean dry sump - unless we see pics inside, guess we wont know how accurate the add is, and the people that have this car.

if it is a dry sump euro 79 - then 30 is a very decent price.

I have been watching this car for some times also- might need to go look at. No interior pics but wording says something like original but excellent condition. Right.
My biggest concern would be a black GTB with original air conditioning.
105 forecasted in Dallas today in a B is a little scary.

I just looked at the interior pics. WOW!!! That looks very nice- no way in he11 though that is original on a 30 year old car with 30k miles. Looks nicer than my 3 year old dd.

Yeah. US car with either Euro bumpers or US bumper which have been pushed in. The problem with the 78-79 US cars are the cams are just terrible......

wrong. only later euro cars were dry sump.

ps a 76 or 77 GTB may be worth 30 whatever in nice shape, but not a 79.

I bought a 328 for less than that.

we were already talking about euro reaper, and the dry sump ended in 81.

It is listed here --> http://www.r-design.net/308/index_e.html as a 1979 US Version built in December of 1979.

The mirrors are not true Ferrari European mirrors (which were similarly shaped and exhibited the Ferrari shield on the rear of each mirror).

The bumpers look like US bumpers pushed in, not replaced with Euro bumpers (because of the spacing).

The tail lights are incorrectly reversed. The red lights go on the inside of the amber lights. Work performed on the rear body for some reason?

The seats appear to have been recovered, wrong grain, stitching length, and larger piping. As likely already noted, incorrect steering wheel and shift knob.

Although 1978 & 1979 aren't quite as desirable, this a one of the very last USA Carb GTBs...
