I went to my dealer in Spain to configure the GTC4Lusso and left with 2 pending items. We used the dealer configurator which was more limited than I expected.

I have never owned a Ferrari and I have never driven the FF. I have driven a 599GTO and 458.

I would appreciate your help on getting feedback on the following points:

    1. Interior Color - For those who went to Geneva or have seen the car in person, is the Cognac interior as orange as it looks in the photos?

The "Cognac" was nowhere to be found in the dealer configurator. My dealer insisted it was "Cuoio" and that the internet fotos showed it more orange. However, going thru all of the threads on this forum, I found the picture of the trunk lid plate for the Geneva car and it definitely has "Cognac". I have written them for confirmation. For now, I configured the interior with "Cuoio Toscana" which is more natural color and less perfect than the plain "Cuoio".

    2. Panoramic Roof - Does the roof dim?

My dealer swears the GTC4Lusso's panoramic roof dims automatically in daylight. I have not seen this in any of the literature. My dealer went further and said in the FF it was manual and now in the GTC4Lusso it is automatic. I do not want the sun shining in all the time. If I cannot dim the roof significantly I will not go with this option.

    Thanks for the help!

The Cognac leather is a new colour. I saw it at Geneva in the flesh. From memory it's not too orangey but i think it's lighter than cuoio.

The pan roof does not have an electochromatic tint. It is fixed. I have it on my FF and have never found it too light or allowing too much sun light in but I live in the UK so I am happy to see the sun whenever I get the chance!

    Hope that helps.

Cognac is not as orange a cuio Toscana but is only available with Taylor made at a significant cost. It is darker than cuio but lighter than Toscana.

As far as I'm aware the roof does not dim.

Thank you both for your responses.

I will be storing my car in Spain for sporadic tourism mostly in the summer months. With no clouds and 35 degrees C, there will be plenty of light. My wife does not like all that sun all the time. Me too. I think this option will not work for me.

Toscana is extracamponario and costs like 6.000€ extra. Is the Cognac much more? I understand that Taylor Made requires at least 75.000€ in options. Is this true?

The roof of the FF is heavily tinted. Unless you are parking in the sun of driving at peak sun all the time, it's great. In weather, at night, all good. Really opens up the car for the passengers. I park in a garage here in LA, love the pano.

    I believe so.

I was told in Como the Cognac is definitely only available through Taylor Made but will become an option at a later date.

I agree with you on the Pano roof, if it opened I would have it in the blink of an eye but as just another window I can't see the point. Many on here love it though, it's a very personal choice.

I have the Pano Roof and do like it, BUT it is a better option for your rear passengers as they get to see the sky. The driver and front passenger don't get that great a view as the glass towards the front is obscured by the roof mounting frame and its trim.

agree, panoramic roof is only really a big benefit for rear passengers - my kids love it, but sat up front you hardly notice as it's behind you almost.

I will be back in Spain at the end of April. Does anyone know where there is a GTC4Lusso available on a showroom floor in Europe? Maranello?

I would like to go see one. Especially the Grigio Ferro with Cognac launch car. I really liked that color combination.

I always expected to get a red Ferrari. But now, seeing the reds in person on some FFs I no longer feel the same way.

Where in Spain will it be based? If at the coast it'll be managable, but I think if you live in the center of it, it'll just get too hot.

I find it strange that Cognac is not available via the Atalier program, but only through Tailor Made - not sure who this guy Taylor is;)

When looking at what's available in the Atalier when not doing Tailer Made, it seem odd that a colour that was used as a launch colour that does not have to be sourced specially as it now "exists", can't be had as Extra Campionario with a less costly build at the Atalier in Maranello.

    Any thoughts on this?

I hope to be parking it in sun and driving at mid-day. :)

    I'll keep it Barcelona.

I plan to use it everywhere in Spain and Europe. I want to do driving trips all over. Any suggestions for great driving routes? Alps, Dolomite, Northern Spain, Portugal, France, Scotland, Norway, etc...

Maybe it's just basic up selling. By getting you to come to the factory than you will be more likely to add other things than just one or two extras. If you get in the mood, already made the trip down than you are likely to add a whole bunch of other extras you may or may not know. (By you I mean everyone in general.) It works for the customer as they get the experience of the factory which they may not have had, increases brand relationship and also shows the palate of extras which they may not have known about. For the factory, increased profitability per unit.

But there would be segment of customers that don't necessarily want to fly out to Italy just to tick an extra colour box.

If you find this Taylor guy than give my compliments for the work he does;).

I'm moving to Barcelona tomorrow so look forward to see it about. Found some nice roads in surrounding areas on google earth, but not sure how busy they'll be. Will report back!

True. But you don't have to do Tailor Made just because you go to the Atalier in Maranello. Many do that without Tailor Made. Tailor Made is for those who want something very unique. There's a lot of extras available in the Atalier that does not go under the Tailor Made umbrella, so that's why I don't see it making sense that just a colour would require Tailor Made.

Roads around Barcelona are quite busy in either direction within 20-30 minutes further a field is more quiet,

Barcelona centre, you can always head to montjuic ( the old gran prix circuit) I was passenger around this in an F50 with police escort and motorbikes closing traffic lights allowing a convoy of 145 ferraris to tear up the old circuit and streets of Barcelona down to port olimpic back in 2003 . From Montjuic you have nice views of Bcn and the port.

South of Barcelona is flat and pretty straight roads all along the coast

North of Barcelona on AP7 is busy until near F1 circuit ( France road to girona and past Montmelo circuit). If you don't mind shopping you might enjoy La Roca ( a designer village of clothes shops, like polo and Versace etc) located just 5 minutes from la roca and can be seen from motorway.

North east of Barcelona an hour up the coast road dual carriageway c32 to tossa de mar and continue out of village and look for sign for Saint feliu de guixols. If you like ( and your passenger can stomach the road) this road has a lot of curves and you are never out of 2nd and 3rd, it has a staggering 360 curves and turns in the space of 7-8 Klms. Just watch out for those cyclists and is busy during holidays.

West out of Barcelona up in and over the mountains are interesting roads where you might enjoy stretching the legs on the car and enjoy amazing views.

Another road like the Costa brava road near Santa feliu de gixols is the road from Alot ( north of girona ) to Andorra, I went on this road once and from memory it takes about 3hrs or less but this road skirts along the Pyrenees and is a lot of turns and hugging mountainsides as you head to Andorra.

Which ever direction you head you are sure to find somewhere which suits you and the car as well as your driving style. A great location as a base. Enjoy.

I can't find another thread about this, and I'm new to this forum: the online configurator seems very limited. Am I missing something? Only exterior and interior colors, exhaust pipes, front grill, pano roof, and a few other things. But there seem to be many more options available. What about the lift feature? I see that on videos as an option, where you have to order the "elevation" feature, or whatever it's called, presumably to be able to increase the ground clearance for slow-speed travel over speed bumps, dips in roads, etc. Can somebody please explain to me what I'm missing here?

I think the configurator is now so you can design the basic specification of your car and see it in high resolution far better than before but many subtle choices can be seen on the written options list and will no doubt be very well promoted when you sit down with the Atalier.
I ordered my Lusso with Cognac but after an absolute age changed to Ciouo and received my car Aug 2017. Had I hung on for Cognac I'd still be waiting now.
I think initially there was a delay in getting it approved for air bag compliance etc.
    Silverstone and Ciouo.............can't go wrong.

So we are very limited as to what we can see in terms of options on the Ferrari online configurator?

The option list is extensive for the normal bespoke order then goes stratospheric for Taylor Made then beyond that infinity...............apart from PINK
By the time they got all that on the configurator the next model would be knocking on the dooro_O
