Have been facing problems with the infotainment system, it gets stuck on certain menus and stopes responding to input. I'm trying to figure out how to reboot when this happens. For now I have to switch off egnition and wait for several minutes until I can operate the main menu.

The AC manual controls remain functional meanwhile.

I think some software update will be coming as my dealer demo is suffering the same problem.
Any body else with this problem?

    Thank you for sharing.

Lol. Italian electronics. The joys of buying the first of anything. Hopefully there will be a fix soon

I got the same problem. Apparently, it is a common issue. The car is with dealer with no indication on how and when it will be resoved. It might not only be software issue, but also limited CPU capacity.

You wonder doesn't Ferrari test this stuff before they release the cars. The obvious answer is NO. And the obvious reason is because they will sell as many cars as they can make and we will buy regardless of these issues. But in all honesty, all they needed to do was let a 10 year old sit in the car and play with the infotainment for 10 minutes and give feedback. It's really unbelievable. Same thing commonly happens in my 2016 F12. They just can't seem to get it right.

I agree with what you're saying but as someone who works in electronic design these bugs are generally software and the infotainment would have been outsourced to someone like Harman. I forget who make it for the Lusso, but surely they have a responsibility to get it right too. I guess they are under pressure to get it out to market which is no excuse really.

What should be happening is like smart TVs etc, the car should have Wifi or use your phones data connection so when parked up at home it can check for updates and do so seamlessly, so your bugs are sorted whilst you sleep. Can't come soon enough!

The 2015 FF had issues with the radio where the DAB interfered with the FM and vice versa resulting in static most of the time.

The fault was also on the California t but to date no fix has been forthcoming. Can they be bothered........I wonder?

Thanks for sharing gentlemen, unfortunately, it seems the infotainment suplier was not managed well enough. I'm very disappointed that the Lusso fails to deliver on a very basic function that is now considered a given in most cars. I mean normal cars!

Otherwise, I think the level of comfort and drivability is outstanding. I've never been able to drive in a relaxed way in Ferrari's before, but this car is happy to cruise along gently and I don't feel I need to push. Throttle paddle response is softer, steering is slower, suspensio damping is perfect. So beside infotainment, I'm very happy.

Makes me wonder if this and many of the other infotainment issues are the reason why they are no longer using Harman and have gone over to Delphi in the Lusso. Will be interesting to see who they use in the F12M.

Good to hear your 'user' feedback, thanks. I understand that in normal driving mode ie cruising the fuel consumption is also noticeably better.

I can only compare to F12 as I've never driven FF, for sure very noticeable reduction in fuel consumption. But again it could be partly due to the change in the way I drive in comparison to F12, as I find my self on Auto mode most of the time in the Lusso. I also don't feel I have to go fast to enjoy the car, in fact so far I found more joy in relaxed driving with this car. A new experience for me as I've never had experience with 4 seat Ferrari GT cars in the past.

Sims123, can you please inform us when you get your car back from the dealer, it will be very useful to know how they go about sorting it out.

It would be great if you can share your feedback about the car in general, interested to know what real life feedback is vs all the test drive feedback we read in the last few months.

    Thanks

I got the message today, that the car is under "online?" diagnostics directly with Italy. The problem will be analysed and reported next week. In the meantime, I have the pleasure to enjoy Maserati .....

Since I have received the car 2.5 weeks ago, I made 3000 km around Switzerland & Italy. I love the car in every aspect of driving - did some fast driving on B roads, Highway and Mountains. Used it for DD driving on usual city driving and I am surprised how special the drive feels on "boring conditions". It is the best car I have ever experienced as GT...speed, traction, suspension, noise, feel .... it s just love. The loading space is surprisinsgly big: two golf bags, two travel bags and the usual wife stuff fitted very will in the trunk.

However, Experience with Infotainment System is not very impressing at all. The passenger display is very light on functionality and works only with USB/Bluetooth, and not with Apple Car Play. Navigation system shut down several times. Guiding information is significantly below par - that s in terms of graphics and road information. In general, the logic of the system overall is very different from other car makers....I guess it is a privilege :)

Worst news, I had to call road assistance as car failed to start. Usual pain but finally made it home. There were some moments where I considered to switch back to the Germans.....but the moment everything works...love is in the air. I hope, that once I get back the car, the love story continues.....

When you say the passenger display is light on functionality would you mind expanding on what it actually does and how as this option is sold as a 'must have' and at the price it should be revolutionary rather than adequate. Part of the reason I moved the FF on was infotainment frustrations and poor radio performance. Oh Deary me Ferrari can be the most irritating people

If they can't get things right, I would rather they just keep it simple by separating thing into different head-units. Yes, that means Alpine/Clarion/Kenwood/whatever unit plus separate Garmin/TomTom unit. Sure, they wouldn't look as nice but at least things will be problem free. The problems come from trying to interface all internal and external systems with each other, and all on the same screen. It's just shameful that even most entry level cars from Japanese and German mass-produced brands can get the infotainment system working pretty much without a flaw and here you have all these infotainment bugs on a $300K+ car.

If ford can get it right in my F150 pickup truck there is NO excuse for ferrari on a $400k car. It just shows how little they care. They arent building these cars for infotainment experience. They build for driving experience. And its likely to date they probably have not produced more than 100 GTC's and theres likely less than 50 customers driving theirs on the road today. Unfortunately these become the test mules. They will fix these issues in later model cars to an extent. But unfortunately until we stop supporting them (which we won't), they have no incentive to care. Just my 2 cents

I think high-tech infotainment system is new to Ferrari, last time FF was using old Chrysler Uconnect system, now they are on their own, delphi of course designed the system and made device, but Ferrari is responsible for integrating it with the car and testing, they can't always relied on their partners to take care of everything for them, they need to research on this more often! They need more electronic engineers for this, it's becoming very important for cars this day! Perhaps establish a new electronic research center for integration of electronic equipment with cars. I know Porsche built one in 2014 at Weissach R&D base, they spent 150 million euros for 3 new R&D buildings, one is definitely for the electronic R&D, I think that helped a lot, look at their new panamera, inside high-tech infotainment system is very impressive indeed and integrated with the interior so well, yet reliable!

Delete the iPhone 7 pairing from your ff and repair it and it should fix the issue

I'm sorry to report that the Lusso is not living up to expectations when it comes to technology and over all user logic in comparison to say Mercedes S coupe or Bentley GT. Simple things, like the new key fob which unfortunately doesn't have keyless access, so you have to take it out of your pocket and press a button. The seat memory function is too slow to confirm a new setting and slow to recall settings. The parking sensor screen is hopeless, as it fails to sense objects and steps in and out freezing all infotainment inputs in the process.

I used the windscreen washing feature, worked well but my side windows had water running all over them, that doesn't happen in any german car anymore!

The seat belt mechanism that hands you the seatbelt is just too loud and once you miss it you can't press a button to recall it. The seat belt is too far behind to reach out for comfortably.

Mainly small things that as a user of every day luxury coupe you come to expect are still not there. In F12 or other sportier ferrari's you don't have any such expectations, the car is only expected to go fast and handle well, and look great off course!

This car is expected to offer more, so far it is good at going very fast and looking beautiful, but I'm not impressed with the luxury and technology on offer.

Can't compare this experience to that of mass makers such as Ford. I think this explains newly advised production delays. My previously estimated April build will now be built in October I learned this week. Dealer demo doesn't arrive until the Spring and he now only has 5 customer allocations for 2017, all at the back. (UK based). I don't think this sounds like they don't care.

As for depreciation, I have been prepared for the Lusso to follow the Ferrari four-seat norm, but I think production is well behind demand, which means that the experience will be fine for a while anyway.
