    Not always true.
    In some countries, you must deactivate it every time.

    In Mercedes it does in fact default as ON. You need to push the button on the dash every time you start the car to deactivate it. You can also buy an electronic module that is hard wired in the car and defaults it to OFF.

    I think the HELE default setting must be a mandatory requirement US EPA if the City Mileage test number on the window sticker was achieved using the HELE. One touch of the button and its off, no big deal, just hope Ferrari can continue to sell V12's in the USA.

    Hope so too. No news in Europe about ending the V12 Lusso infact they are outselling the V8 by a country mile
