My Lusso (Canna di Fucile) has a new rosso stablemate - a 70th anniversary car no less. I don't yet know the owner, but clearly a person of impeccable taste. :)

The light isn't great where it's parked so I was having trouble reading the dedication plaque. I think it said it's a tribute to a 458 GT3 car. Does that sound right?

I will try to swing by tomorrow and shine a flashlight in there.

Still trying to figure out who belongs to it...

I still haven't identified the owner, but I have identified the car.

The current color is a wrap, which covers the livery. This explains why our resident 70th anniversary experts did not recognize the car.

I like the livery, particularly the way the tricolore weaves across the roof to keep the colors on the correct side when viewed from the front or from behind. Very cool touch. But, to each his own!

Good sleuthing there to come up with that detail.
Maybe it's Livery 46 - Marrone Colorado and he is not a fan of brown...

Wrap looks classier. Incredibly well done wrap.

It actually looks a little rough up close, but you can't tell from the picture. The color is very nice, I agree.

The livery is certainly bold. It wouldn't be my choice for a car that I'd use regularly - it would attract more attention than I'd want. But I think it's attractive and well executed.

Haha - no it is that rosso car with the tricolore livery. Confirmed. I dig it, but I guess he didn't.

Sidebar: that F12 in livery 46? I love it. Weird, but it works. I'll have to show it to my dad, it will be right up his alley.

    OK, sorry, back to Lussos.

I think this is a particularly charming design @donv.

@of2worlds, I think there may be 359. I saw a beautiful yellow LaFerrari Aperta at Miller Motorcars the other day with a 70th Anniversary badge on it. This prompted me to do a little digging. Apparently nine of the LaF Apertas were reserved for 70th anniversary editions. Do you know if I have that right?

Not something I have heard. All the LaFerrari Aperta production builds got the anniversary badge. The tailor made cars were the regular production models with a single example of each model F12, 488, Lusso etc getting one of the 70 design themes. The LaFerrari Aperta was it's own special limited edition changed from the 2014 coupe version. There were only five paint colors and no blue paint choice offered.

I would trust you more than what I deduced from a few websites.

When I saw the badge, I asked one of the techs if all LaF Apertas carried it and was told no (apparently incorrect). That's what prompted my digging, and I found an article on the Ferrari Lake Forest site that said that nine of the 210 were 70th anniversary editions, and other sources that mentioned that nine cars were built for 70th anniversary celebrations before being offered to clients. Sounds like I'm propagating misinformation. Ignore me!

Total LFA production was 241 units.
    (6 prototypes plus 225 units plus 9 plus 1).

So the 'plus 1' was Rosso Fuoco but how did Ferrari spec the 'plus 9' then; anything special other than the five standard choices? I remember one of your countrymen who wanted a blue Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta . He had to go on his own when Ferrari refused his initial request for blue paint work...

Indeed all LaFA carry the 70th anniversary badge. and yes no blue was offered, my friend had to settle for white instead of Blu Elettrico to match his coupe.

The "Plus 1" was NOT Rosso Fuoco.
It was Rosso Corsa DS 322 and sold directly to Taiwan.

(PS: Sorry for the wrong thread here.)

As far as I know, LaF Aperta were offered in Rosso Corsa, Nero (I think standard flat not metallic), Bianco Italia, and Giallo Modena. All carried the 70th Anniversary badge, but are not 70th anniversary editions. A few owners took delivery in Italy, and then hired Zanasi to repaint the car to a color they would have chosen if available…

Whats fun is the Lusso has an engine related to the LaF and Aperta, has double the seats, double the drive wheels, and with the pano roof option, you can have some of the benefit of the open experience without any of the drawbacks. And if you opted for the rear wiper, you get that over a LaF! :p

Thank you for the correction Marcel, I assumed incorrectly the 'charity auction Aperta' was the extra 1 as described below
Proceeds from the sale of the 210th LaFerrari Aperta will be donated to Save the Children, an international organization that works to improve the lives of disadvantaged children around the world.

If you recall, the previous record for a LaFerrari was $7 million dollars, which went to auction to raise funds for earthquake victims in Central Italy last year.

This LaFerrari is a special extra addition to the initial 209 cars built. It sports a beautiful metallic Rosso Fuoco livery with double metallic Biano Italia racing stripe on its hood and tail. As per Motor Trend.
