In the February 7. 2006 post below, GTE #3237 is listed as a shell with no driveline. In Barchetta.com, GTE #3237 is listed a 250 SWB replica as of some unknown date. I was offered a 250 SWB replica today with the same chassis number. Are there two #3257s or is the 250 SWB replica a just completed project? Can anyone shed any light on this car or cars and who might done the re-body?

Two cars with that number. Tim Zat has had that GTE for sale since 1994!!! The Fine Car Store (yeeesh) did the conversion in 1993/94.

There is only one 3237GT, but its parts are located in two different vehicles. It was originally a GTE, but the engine, transmission, rear axle, steering & suspension were used to create the replica SWB.

The GTE Register lists the GTE as being sold with the drivetrain in October 1993, but available from Tom Zat without the drivetrain in March 1994. In June 1995, The Fine Car Store in San Diego, CA listed SWB 3237 for sale.

Tom Zat still had the GTE shell as late at April 2007, but no longer has it listed on his web site.

Does anyone know what chassis the Fine Car Store used for the replica? It seemsstrange that they would not use GTE chassis 3237 when so many replicas have this chassis as a basis.
