    Thank god it wasn't...

    Reminds me of this story

    http://www.**************/cars/1075.html

The second key figure in the creation of the Nembo Spyder was Sergio Braidi. Little is known about Braidi other than the fact that he wanted a spectacular Ferrari spyder along the lines of a 250 GTO 1964 version, but without the roof, and that aesthetically is what 1777GT is. Indeed Tom Meade claims no design influence for it and actually almost used an actual GTO as the basis for the Nembo Spyder, since GTOs were then just obsolete racing cars and at least one or two passed through his hands. The pair eventually settled for a 1960 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet, Series II, whose was M. Moratti Jr. Meade recalls: "It had a normal 3 carburetor setup except that the air cleaner was cut way down to provide much lower hood clearance"

Wasn't the first perspn to make some faux 250 GTOs a Swiss man
who was later found dead of a gunshot wound?
I think he made at least 3 or 4.
Since Ferrari fans follow the SNs of the most famous cars,
it seems like this would be an exercise in futility because there are lists, even
as the one presented in this forum, that show who owns the cars.

    Absolutely FASCINATING thread!!!

So, 4561SA is considered to be a "330GTO"? Am I understanding that correct??

I know it had the 4L engine, but since it had the SA designation, yet wore the Series 1 bodywork I have wondered about this. I had the opportunity to see the car several years ago and absolutely loved it.

Thank you for this thread and all who have commented on it.

By whom? Some state that it was built on a modified GTO chassis, others that it was built on a 400 SA chassis. I've never personally inspected the car, so I cannot say one way or the other.

The car is built on a 400SA chassis. there are not any 250GTO components in the car. It is a 400SA with a GTO body

I would never say publically that I wanted to shoot somebody. However, I would be happy to load the gun for the person who would shoot the individual who first used the term "330 GTO". There is NO such car. We have been through this way too many times.

Although this is in Russian, definately worth watching just for the sound.

Perhaps they meant front mid mounted engine?

Yes- that was pretty obvious when I saw family classic cars.
The owner, manager also seems to be struggling with the gearbox....
