In addition to this, the real Cal Spyder was sold off last year to DM and then "sold" at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in January '24.
I cant imagine owning the real deal and buying that monstrosity, even for **** and giggles. A GTO Engineering, maybe. Esp if you want to race it/rally and push the car..but that BMW? No way.
GTO engineerings stuff is top notch. To get a car to this quality with these experts hands on the car is worth in excess of a million. Seriously guys just look at what it costs to restore these cars. It's absolutely insane. To get something so spot on that in would fool 99.9% of people is incredible. Also the point isn't about fooling people it's about someone enjoying the car. When was the last time you saw a 250 swb driving down the road? I take it from the enthusiasts perspective... More kids will get to see these things and see the beauty and maybe get into the hobby one day. I am 100% against passing it off as real... But... As a guy who builds/built cars... And in the classic car world... These things are exceptional and the craftsmanship is just out of this world. To find skilled labor like this is so hard. To start from scratch and make all these parts work together... I mean... It's just a fantastic feat
