FTR - my wife spoke with the GTO seller on e-bay, she speaks perfect German.
They had a good 20 minute conversation and the seller requested a visit, there is one additional extra - 2.5% tax. My wife has a lot of family there and lived there for two years. I have been avoiding all her trips but this might just get me there

 

The tax is US Customs Duty due US Customs when the car enters the US. No German tax is due if the car is exported.

Make Sure Vin # is US or car will NOT get into the US Period.

Perhaps this was one of those Nigerian market GTO's? Auction was removed.

 

It is interesting you say that - everything has been received accept the VIN. My Wife has a car guy for a first cousin and stated the exact same thing. I appreciate the much needed help once we resolve the VIN issue. Seller claims to be closing shop and moving to Florida.
