Guys, am now really in two minds after seeing pics of the the Aventador. Have a GTO delivery sometime in august but love the look of the recently lauch Aventador very much. Can only have one so not sure which way to go now. Stick with the GTO or sell it when it arrives and go for the raging bull. Obviously getting the Aventador will be a longer wait as i am sure the waiting has list grown since its launch. Thanks guys.

I would say if you can get a build slot go for the bull, it really does seem like a fantastic car and truly is nothing but a raging bull!

Buy the GTO and sell it when the time comes to buy the new Lambo. :D:D

Cop your loss on the sale of the GTO and be done with it. Someone who spends that sort of money on a car im sure is not too concerned about resale. ;);)

Take the GTO, drive it and then decide if you really want the Lambo....

You really can't go wrong but the best way to decide is to drive both.

the choice is clear : sell that GTO as soon as it arrives ... don't drive it, don't even title it ... and get the Lambo.

The Gto should still hold value but the longer you wait to trade the 599 in the bigger hit you are going to take. I have a spot for the aventador but I believe they are about a year out for new orders which would put you into the summer of 2012. if you know you don't want the 599 long term I wouldn't take delivery and just see what becomes available with the aventador over the next year. Just my 2 cents. Either way 2 great cars.

I say once you clear the financial issues, listen to your heart- which one inspires and excites you the most. I have a sense of which one I prefer (hint Im posting on FChat not Lambochat) but thats just me.

Unles you guys own or have at least driven a GTO. You really have no idea what a leap forward it is compared to a stock 599. You really can't describe it ......you have to experience it. Any lambo is just another lambo. You can pick it up for chump change 18 months out. Very few GTO's will ever change hands here or in europe. This Ferrari is forever.

The GTO is a limited production car and Lamborghini will sell all the Aventadors to whomever wants one and can cough up the money. Not even close on this one. Five years from now you can sell your GTO and buy two Aventadors if you like, maybe even in three years.

To me the GTO seems like a car that has too much power for it's platform, and the true drivers will not want the car after the newness wears off.

    Just a hunch,

Absolutely! Also the Ferrari is just that - a Ferrari
The other thing is well, uh, an Audi made to look like a rapper's cool machine for going to show off outside night clubs.
One is class, the other crass..

But yeah, Ferrari = Justin Bieber/Usher, Lambo = Lil Wayne/T-Paine

hey now, lets not let all that "brand loyalty, brand identity" get in the way of facts. sure, the GTO may hold value, or may lose value, we'll never know. BUT, the truth is, you are getting some serious tech and harware, performance from that Bull, it's a great value considering. that "crass" 'rapper's cool machine' is even more impressive than the GTO from a technology and performance perspective...so lets not trash the car based on your own perceptions or preferences. that "crass" car will blow the doors off the GTO. looks? that's a matter of preference. both are great cars, but for a car base priced at 380K, the Lambo is seriously forcing Ferrari to up the game in the coming years. heck, even a 599 HGTE nicely optioned out pushes nearly 400K!!! unbelievable! of course, you'll always have bragging rights with a 'limited' production run car such as a GTO, even though underneath it is behind the times compared with the Aventador.

Thanks guys for all your feedback. Have thought about, will be keeping the GTO. Will just have to work my pants off for the next year or two and than maybe just maybe get a used low mileage or demo Aventador. That way I can have the both cars but unfortunately right now it just have to be just the GTO. Cheers!

good plan mate. besides, in a couple years time, you certainly will benefit from the unavoidable depreciation of the Aventador, and when you do buy it then, it will be an even bigger bargain considering all that hardware! good luck with everything, and enjoy the heck out of the monster GTO.

I had an order for the first Aventador at my dealer here in Switzerland. However, I was offered the opportunity to buy a new GTO to my specification and I went with the Ferrari. I saw the Lambo at the factory last November and again in Geneva yesterday. I've owned 5 Lambos since 07 and still have one now, so I love the cars. But I still cancelled the Aventador. As others have said, the GTO is simply more special.
