Does anyone know that the round thing on the passenger floor just ahead of the seat is? There is like a round raised part and in the middle is something made of rubber?

Doing my weekly valet and clean this moring, I again noticed this and cant figure out what it is, anchoring from some type of restraint system?

While on the subject of questions, why on earth do Ferrari fit some type of material in the rear wheel arches, noise suppressionI would guess but cleaning sand and other road dirt of this material isnt that easy.

I had ordered floor mats and couldn't get the drivers side mat to lay flat because of that bump directly in front of the seat. I was told that it is a rubber nipple connected to some kind of fluid resevoir and are common on the newer Maseratti's. When i get a chance I will check the owners manual.

It's the inertia switch.....all modern cars have them in some form or another.....it cuts off the fuel supply at the time of an accident......similar to the way an air bag deploys at the time of an accident.

    And very usefull!
I got an accident few years ago with an 360 challenge stradale on an highway, and hopefully this device already present in the stradale was working well as I was not able to leave the car alone and the engine was still on, then the engine stopped due to fuel circuit closed, no damage in fact but this device could be quite usefull!
