How important is fitting the Driver's Seat Adjustment Device? I have it in my 430S - have never used it. Is it advisable for resale? Can it be retrofitted? I don't foresee using it - but in a 350k Pound car, it's small money to spec it versus not being able to have it at all? In additon I'd be interested to know how many people buy the spare tyre? Also have it in my Scud - waste of boot space! Craig
I think you have your answers already You can't get the race seats at all in the US, I seem to recall that on the Scud etc, you get a lower seat with the adjustable thing, but it depends what your size is. I find the race seats way better than the standard, and will retro-fit them to my car when it comes in. I've always been of the opinion that any spare tire other than on a regular car is a waste of time, that's what a cell-phone and a flat-bed are for. Good luck with your spec, waiting seems to be especially tortuous for this car. And now of course its winter where I am, and my car will no doubt arrive when there's snow. At least my car is white, so I'll be camouflaged.
Hey Craig If its any guidance I ordered it as I rather have it and not use it than not have it and wish I did (if that makes sense). I found the driving position in the GTO different to the Scud and felt I would want to be a bit higher than the lowest fixed setting. I was also told that it cannot be retrofitted (not economically anyway). I agree with you on the spare tyre......waste of space. Hope this helps......
Hey Nads - long time! Agree 100% with you - for that kind of money, I wouldn't want to be caught short. When you expecting yours or if I read correctly you may already have it? I am told mine is Jan build You also holding onto your Scud? It really is a different car - don't want to part with it yet. Enter your GTO in the Mille Miglia Tribute 2011 - I did it last year. Fantastic fun! Craig
The Ferrari Magazine issue #10 did a big story about the Mille Miglia Tribute with lots of tiny pictures. Nice avatar pic you have here though! I think 127 Ferrari models ran in the event but staying up until 2 in the morning and getting up again at 6 AM sounds like a bit of a grid... Did you talk to Steve Cropley? CH
Didn't meet Steve Cropley but did meet Chris Evans who was driving the Coburn California he'd bought on auction. The MM Tribute was actually hard work - waking up early and lots of driving, but besides the beautiful driving roads, the Italian police not only turned a blind eye to our crazy driving - but encouraged it! My only advice if you enter, choose a comfortable GT (599 or Cali) - I did it in a Scuderia and my ass was pretty numb by the end of it!
I know one person that has specced the adjustment device, probably a good idea if you ever want to sell the car. As for the spare wheel, well seems all cars destined for Africa come with the spare....why I dont know considering you have no place to put the wheel you took off....certainly wont fit in the boot and I highly doubt a passenger would want a wheel on their lap....
