2 Ferrari dealers said they would not fit one, even though they did my superfast and F12. They said it was not compatible with the GPF on the GTS.
I took delivery of my 812 GTS last year and had a Novitec valve controller installed immediately. I have had no issues at all with it in the past year. It’s worked perfectly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My 812GTS hasn't arrived but I talked to service in advance and they said the same thing. They did say they had the Capristo in stock so perhaps that was the reason
That must be it. Doesn’t make any sense. All,these controllers do is either pin the valves closed, pin open or leave in.normal mode. We don’t install new butterfly valves it’s purely a controller. Maybe someone much smarter here can explain why a manufacturer would make a difference, with the obvious fact that dealers sell C products and not F. Head scratcher for me
It's already been explained earlier in the thread. The Forza controller is potentially damaging because it's possible to close the exhaust valves at all RPM. This will create a large amount of back pressure at high RPM which is bad for the engine. In contrast (and contrary to your statement above), the Capristo has no 'always closed' setting so this is why Capristo is safe and Forza is not.
… or you could just do a muffler delete and get rid of the valves and mufflers and vastly improve the sound … without new hardware or a CEL …
Spoke to Capristo dealer In the UK, he said no problem, so booking in for a couple of weeks time. How much difference does it make for those that have fitted one?
My bad. Thought someone recently stated they could w c. With that said, as long as you don’t do it it I should be fine. My only use is open all the time or regular. So the C has the ability to close but at a certain rpm it will override and open up? and I m referencing a GTS so no turbos. Car has been serviced w no mention but may switch it to C to make life easier
Another one. Looking at their site capristo doesn’t list the controller for the GTS, just SF. Anyone know if they are interchangeable?
I clearly have the forza but shouldn’t matter when valves are open. It’s pretty significant. Much more bass and when slowing and downshifting you get more pops and gargles….I like it and I like to be able to turn back to stock when needed. Super easy and pretty inexpensive upgrade for what you get
I have installed the Forza controller on both a superfast and now on my GTS. They are exactly the same. Sent from my SM-G781U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Some USA MY2020 Superfast do not have GPF. Cant speak about other markets Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
From Capristo: "Unfortunately the GTS our controller doesn’t work. The ECU constantly scans for valve position and we haven’t done a redesign on the module at this time."
Just get a novitec valve controller. I have one on my gts and it works. No need to keep looking around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the Forza controller on my 22 GTS and it works great! Sent from my SM-G781U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
That’s strange! I have a capristo controller on my 812 GTS and it works perfectly fine. No ECU alerts!
