Does anyone know what size banjo these new fuel pumps require-the one in the picture is too big. I am trying to find out what i need to ask for.
Thanks for the usual excellent help!

What "new" fuel pump? Do you have any manf part number/info/specs? (Doesn't look beefy enough to generate the ~6 bar pressure needed for CIS operation.)

Following this thread also, I just ordered a new fuel pump (bosch 69532) yet to arrive but thought it should be a plug and play along with the accumulator.

The banjo fitting would be described by its metric internal diameter.Such as 14, 15, 17, 19, mm. Looks like you have a Pierburg pump .Should work, but I would not modify my fuel lines to accept an aftermarket pump unless the money differential was significant. Tepps

    Should not be an issue.

The plastic fuel lines of the "i's" should ALL BE REPLACED, if they have not been done in the past say 10 years. All 13 of them (on an '81), if original, are just a fire waiting to happen.

A new banjo should only be a couple of bucks from Bosch.

All that said, I'd just buy the correct fuel pump from Bosch. They are not expensive even for a cheap-skate like me.

    Here's my update:
When the fuel pump went out, I thought I would check locally since it was a Bosch fuel pump. The pump shown in the picture is that pump. When i got home I noticed that it was different, so I went to the Forum to check it out. Here is where thisng went screwy-i must have pulled an old post that mentioned that the pump I needed was NLA. i Guess that a few years ago this may have been the situation. When Steve mentioned "what new pump" i went back to the Forum and found this was old info-thanks Steve. I returned the wrong pump and ordered the new pump and all is now good.
    Thanks for the usual assistance!
Hope to start it up this weekend.

I just changed out the fuel pump and fuel accumulator on my gtbi, went a slightly different route with the connections. Turned out well.

    Dave,
I've just taken the pump out of my 82 GTSi, the pipe that goes from the accumulator to the pump is shot, has broken off at the fitting, do you mind telling me where you got the new fitting and pipe

    Thanks
    Ian

i'm having a new pipe fabed at a local machine shop.
basically they're reaming the old tubing from the banjo and flare fitting and brazing the new tubing in.

Like whom? I can't seem to find one. If mine breaks tomorrow, I'm going to be desperate for one myself.
