Good evening ladies and gents. In the interest of having fun, and maybe even being a helpful timeline for prospective new owners, I thought it would be fun to poll FChat to see what their guess would be for a delivery timeline. A real-time test of public perception vs reality. I placed a deposit with a dealer in FL on 1/13/2022. On 10/3/2023 I received an email: "Order in - just waiting for an allocation!" with a Vehichle order status of "P" What is your best guess of when I will take delivery?
I ordered on announcement, did atelier, and am wait on my GTB now with a vin. Depending where and your status--- Youre a long way off.
Oh jeeze, I thought you just placed an order now so I figured it would be a year out from now. I suppose it still will be a year out from now. Sucks.
Hey, congratulations! Part of the fun is the anticipation. They are wonderful cars, and you will enjoy! cheers
And this is why I ran the poll! I'm very thankful for the forum and the experience here. In my mind, I was looking at Q2 2024... But judging by the replies and the votes, it's more than likely 2025.
As a first time new Ferrari buyer in a similar place as the OP can you please elaborate further? I understand by logic that if there is no allocation then obviously no new car; however, my understanding is that if you have an "order in" and a status number its just a waiting game for said allocation (that is going to happen)--this is what my dealer told me...
dealers have sold all of their 296 allocation. They have lists of buyers who have put down deposits and maybe even specced the car. The dealers are hoping Ferrari gives them additional allocation. Will Ferrari give all dealers enough additional allocations? No. Will some dealers get a few extra allocations? sure. Find out where you are on the dealers list. Have the dealer show where you are on their list. All dealers use a Ferrari CRM and there is a list. If your stars align and you get assigned an extra allocation car it will arrive very late in the production cycle..2 years maybe?
I'm putting in a deposit for an allocation. Dealer says I can get the GTB faster than the GTS, which is no surprise. It's a bit of a waiting game. What I really want is the VS, so could always take the risk of not having the 296 and just getting that.
Also keep in mind that the list prices of Ferraris is increasing. I believe $25k this year (?). If you want one, get a slightly used GTB now.
I deposited within 24 hours of the April '22 unveiling and had an 'accepted' order allocation fairly quickly - within a month or two - and I'm still looking at 2025. The good news is that my 2021 GTB order is now Stage 40! I wish I had the line photos in the app already but I understand they'll probably get uploaded around the time of delivery in 3-5 months. And even then, it might not even be my car! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well I just got the call that my slot is up and locks on 11/27. Going in on Saturday to finalize my spec. Mine is not going to be TM or Atelier ... I guess I'm about to find out how long it takes.
That's not how that works. ---------------------------------- @LussoLife ... If you got your deposit in that early you have a great shot at getting this car. The when is just matter of how many your dealer gets every month and how many people are in front of you. But it is a matter of when not if.
I also have deposit down, paid June 2022… was told allocation spring 2024… then told “looking like late 2024”
I’m going to correct my above post because I found out that there has been a recent change in the way Ferrari allocates cars to dealers. It used to be that dealers could only estimate how many of each model they would get, and the total amount would end up being however many all the monthly allocation calls added up to. Ferrari now plans out and tells each dealer how many cars they will get of any model for its entire production run. So on a car like a GTB/GTS dealers where demand is high enough to satisfy all their allocations, the dealer has a pretty good idea pretty early on who will get the car and in what order. The only thing they don’t know is the when, as that still depends on how many allocations they get on each monthly call. They will take a few extra deposits to account for cancelations but that’s it. This is all to say that because of this system change, if your dealer has taken your deposit and put your order in the system (shows up in your app), you have an even higher chance than before that your car will indeed be built. The only caveat is this … this change in allocation system happened during the time of the 296 GTB/GTS, it had not started when the cars where first available to order, so there might still be some issues at the back end where they don’t make enough cars for people who have orders in the system. I would encourage anyone with an order to talk to their dealer and get a sense of where they are in line relative to how many allocations they now know they will have.
I paid my deposit on 10/06/2023, and the GM of the dealership told me it would be around the end of 2025 that I could configure the car. The delivery will be about another 6 months, so my delivery expectation is Q1 or Q2 of 2026. Location: California, US
An exciting twist: they got a few GTS allocations already and I suddenly find myself with a February appointment for Atelier in NYC with a likely fall 2024 delivery. I already sent back a short list of colors and leathers I like and excited to make it a 1 of 1.
I know several people who have cancelled for personal reasons, business uncertainty, or changed mind and wanted something else, etc. Interest rate jump made payments way, way higher and I know of cars that arrived and the owner didn’t close the transaction. Over two years is a long wait, and I’ll admit I was looking at several other cars between 2021 and now.
