Image Unavailable, Please Login My first thought was a ferrari given the distributor position but I am going with Lagonda (photo from the Ludvigsen V12 book)??
Extra points to you if you’re saying you referenced an actual book to confirm! Yes. Final lagonda race car before the brand being fully consumed by Aston. There were 3 made. The remaining chassis became DBRs. Shame David Brown couldn’t continue to develop the V12. I don’t think there were any other 50s V12 sports cars outside of Ferrari.
I think some of the most visually impressive engines were made in the 50's and 60's (the first iteration of the Matra V12 is a favourite). So I spent an hour flipping through Ludvigsen's The V12 Engine - the carbs gave it away! It is a book I can recommend.
I believe this is the Elfin GTS coupe: https://www.daviddowsey.com/blog/2018/7/18/true-blue Cool car.
Maserati made one 350S with a V12 (chassis #3503): https://www.***************.com/car/5531/Maserati-350S-V12.html
Its the Osca Zagato #4502 It was rebodied and now looks like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login can be seen at Henri Malartre Museum in Lyons France.
Indeed! (or so I have been told, since I have not seen it myself and I had not found any pictures of it as a Spyder ...). Your turn
Struggling here. At first I looked at the 'wide 5' wheels and thought maybe that Austrian guy who built specials off the 356 chassis but no, the VW like a Karman, no. Didn't realise how widely used the 'wide 5' was.
You are in the right country! He also designed the bodywork for a F1 constructors championship winning car and other race cars.
His better known older brother also had a significant impact on F1, endurance and Indy car racing from the 60's to the 80's.
Judging from the scoop on the roof, looks like UK made and all these aero additions look like an afterthought. Proportion wise has to be based on an eType. What year as it made? This is tough
Yep, built in England from 1970 to 1972. It has a Plywood monocoque and fibreglass body. A BIG hint: his brother was one half of a very famous company that built a very successful F1 engine.
