Here's a question for the car guys. My Gulia has 22k miles on it. I can buy it out of lease for 20k. Or for the same 20K can get an 04 thunderbird convertible with same miles.

or flirting with the idea of just leasing new challenger scat pack while one still can.

I like the Gulia but prefer my wifes stelvio, T bird might be fun in Fl, but iots older still. Eiter way not sure id wnat to be owning the Guila at 8 years just cause alfa, but maybe that's wrong.

Always liked the challenger but not sure what it would be like to live with. Does seem like a great road trip car.

I'd stay away from the Tbird bc of repairs (neighbor had & had to get rid of soon after) , unless it's not an issue for you... That said they don't appeal to me, except when they are without top...

The Stelvios we had were for the most part trouble free and state of the art and fun. I've heard the Gulias are fun too. So for me it would be a cost comparison issue between the Gulia and the Challenger.
I dig the Challenger and never had one so aside from the cost diff. for me that might be reason enough to check out, lol

    good luck

The Thunderbird looks horrid! I have had 2 Challengers and they are very comfortable cars and look alot better.

    Al thanks for the feedback.
For some reason i liken the retro looks of the Tbird, except the dash which is cheapo ford. yes repairs are an issue, simply because of hassle. Right now I've got a track lotus in one shop and my BBi in another getting the steering rack redone. Juts getting the bits to the shops I feel like Im managing a car business', which is not fun, and both those cars are at friends so its as easy as it gets.

I rented a decade ago a v8 Challenger and loved it, and theyre soon to be gone. On the other hand the Guila has a litheness to it that i like and there is simply nothing wrong with my car, at $20k it seems free. Ideally I'd do both, but were at 8 or something cars already, 3 bikes, 3 boats etc wife will freak. Ive been good in fl, we have a 3 car garage and 4 vehicles, so only the old chev living in the driveway. Well thats flying out the window anyway when the z06 arrives in oh 25 when my order number comes up.

Truth be told a driving in fl is not that important to me, there are no hills or corners. For the 7 corners I encounter the gulia provides a little reminder, but even the stelvio does that. Gulia is great for bangign down the highway and dispatching slower vehicles, its rapid and direct. A challenger just seems cool, comfy etc and its now or never cause they stop production in dec, plus its different. But maybe the noise would aggravate. I guess Ill have to check one out tomorrow.

Well at least you got the T bird off my list. i was even thinking of something classic, but frankly don't want to deal with it.

Whether or not you keep the Giulia longer term, it probably makes sense to buy it for $20k if it's only got 22k miles on it. I see similar cars asking closer to $30k.

Buy for $20,000 and sell it now for what they are getting and buy another equal car in a year or two for much less. Prices on used cars are just starting to drop. Give it 12 months and they will be alot less.

The way I obsessively take care of cars, there will never be another equal used car regardless of miles. But yeah used prices are dropping fast. Imo there is no financial upside to the buy even for sale now, for me its just essentially a near free car that close to showroom new.
The only other car below 100k I'd really contemplate is a challenger just cause they'll be gone soon. I suppose if I drove one for a few days again it would be a clearer decision.
Over 100k Id go for an audi rs6 wagon, but we cant get those here.

Got another 200mi round trip starting 6 am tomorrow, that should cinch it.
part of the issue is i just like to drive different cars every few days, due to mood or use, but space is limited. Would i prefer living with the alfa or a challenegr..

$20k is a bargain for that low miles. Buy it.
