    I recently bought a 2004 360 Modena that was manufactured for the European market. Since I live in Kuwait, I am worried that because the car is not "Gulf Specs", it will not be able to cope with summer temparatures here (both the a/c and the engine temp).

    Can anyone tell me the differences between Gulf Specs and Eurpoean Specs (if any) and whether I might have a problem in the summer?

    Are "gulf specs" the same as "Phoenix Arizona specs"? The summer temps here in Az. are probably just like yours in Kuwait and there seems to be no shortage of 360s driving around here when it's hot. Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken, and they will but I thought most cars today are "world cars" meaning the a/c will be as poor for you as it is for me here in the states. Seriously though I wouldn't worry about it just don't rail on it when it's really hot.

    I am not sure a/c is different on gulf spec.
    I think its rather :
    - alarm buzzer when a specific speed is exceeded
    - different cat system as it does not need to be EU or US emission compliant

    My car was originally sold in the UAE but the serial number is actually Euro spec.

    All gulf cars are Euro specs!! Dealers in the gulf invented the "Gulf Specs" myth so they can sell their cars!

    There are 2 specs worldwide, the USA and the rest of the world specs.

    Not true...for example: UK and Japanese spec cars are right hand drive...

    Since posting my question here a couple of days ago, I have been informed by several people that the a/c and engine cooling is the same on cars sold in the Gulf as they are on cars sold in Europe.

    I have learned the following in the last few days:

    Up until 2 years ago, all Gulf dealers were actually under Maranello Concessionaires. They ordered their cars through them, and therefore had VINs that actually say they are Euro spec cars.

    Recently, Ferrari signed on each individual Gulf dealer directly and cut off Maranello Concessionaires.

    I traced my car specifically, and found that it was indeed ordered from Bahrain and imported through Maranello Concessionaires to that market. So it is "Gulf specs".

    I have also found out that all "Gulf specs" means really is looser emissions standards, quieter alarm operation (except when triggered) and an annoying buzzer when the speed exceeds 120 km/hr.

    PS. Does anyone know if I can shut the speed buzzer off?

    I'm glad you got that figured out. I just love learning new things about Ferraris. Now I'm wondering if "Gulf specs" a/c is better than what we get in the states.

    For the buzzer, I guess the best way is to ask a dealer to do it....

    There are 2 specs Euro spec and USA spec. Then you have RHD euro spec for UK.

    In the GCC states or Gulf as you say they do NOT have their own spec. However as the UK use to run the middle east prior to the factroy buy out all cars where Euro spec sent to the GCC states.

    However there is one exeption to this, cars that went to Dubai were not under UK control, they had a factory direct import deal and took USA spec cars. Currently Ferrari SpA controls the GCC states but the specs are still the same Euro spec apart from Dubai that has USA spec.

    So check inside your warranty book cover and see who the importer is that will tell you the spec.

    If you are in Dubai, Al Tayer motors can do it. Be warned - they are VERY shady. Horrible dealership that hsa caused many issues.

    I would talk to Ivan at AAA motors in Sharjah. He works on bin Salem's cars as well as some other wealthy clients who actually understand what workmanship is.

    Thanks everyone for the input.

    The importer on my car's documents is Maranello Concessionaires. Further down on the same page, there is a stamp with an Arabic/English logo that says "Euro Motor", which I was told is a Bahrain-based importer.

    Actually there are about 15 different versions. If look at the parts book you will see the different version listed. Some versions only vary by a few parts others by quite a few. There is even a disignation for Brueni (sp). Regards, Vern
