Strange question here maybe but fchatters know their stuff....

Registered 9 mm Walther PPKS in CA. I understand how to transport the weapon in Ca, where I am fuzzy is transporting it back and forth between my home in Park City and Ca. Will be in locked container in back of jeep, unloaded with ammo separate from gun and magazine unloaded. Do I have any requirements once I cross into Utah? Do I need to register it at all? From what I read it can be carried in open without permit in Utah with full magazine but safety on(only thinking of doing this up in the mountains). Just want to be sure I'm doing what's legal.

As far as transporting in my car in Utah, what are the requirements?

If anyone know about NV and Arizona law as far as driving through only that would help too.

    Thanks

The same rules apply for the state of utah for transportation. The only thing about Nevada is they require you to register your gun for concealed carrying. Utah is a pretty "lose" when it comes to it. I wouldn't recommended carrying without a permit. Even with a permit you can be cited for disturbing the peace. And believe me it will happen. If you are hiking or hunting and wanted to carry a side weapon For protection is 100% okay. By no means an expert but 2 classes for registration of concealed carry in the state of utah help. Hope this is helpful to you

You can carry in your car the same way you can in your own home in Utah. Basically, you can keep it loaded and concealed in any part of the vehicle.

You can carry your firearm in the open but expect to be called on. :) I've never seen anybody be cited for disturbing the peace with a concealed carry permit that's been using their head. You'd have to do something pretty dumb for that to happen.

I believe Utah law basically treats your car as an extension of your home for purposes of carrying a handgun. It's also an open carry state, but I think in order to be legal there can't be a round chambered.
