ferrari guys are probably more knowledgeable on tubi exhaust so i'm posting here...

I bought a used tubi exhaust (serial number 000018085) for my 04 Gallardo and i think i bought the regular quieter version....it sounds high pitched and all that but it just isn't loud enough, sort of the quiet F1 sound. when i close the windows, i can hardly hear it unless i'm past 4-5k rpm. can't really hear downshifts either.

so....since i bought this thing on the cheap, i'm thinking about cutting the can and getting rid of the internal resonator, if any. (has anyone done this?)
i called tubiusa dealer (championmotorsports) and they didn't know what the difference was between the regular and the loud version was but did offer to take my serial number and get back to me on whether the muffler is regular or loud version

what do you guys think about cutting open the muffler...am i asking for trouble? maybe i'll just take out all the internals (like resonators if any) and leave the chambers alone (if any)....in any case, i'll post up pics if i do this...

any thoughts would be appreciated... TIA

that may make it louder, but it will also likely decrease performance in some about due to a loss of "tuning" that Tubi claims to engineer into its products...

Stock cats do a pretty good job of attenuating sound. I'd look at making a change there before I'd butcher the Tubi.

how much sound does doing a cat bypass improve? if it's just a bit, i think i'd rather not? tubiUSA says they carry Normal/Loud/LoudLoud versions. i gave them the serial number so hopefully Italy can tell me which version mine is...will report back on this...
