The car has been sitting in my friends showroom for over three weeks now waiting for the buyer to come down with a check. He's been dragging his feet and finally said yesterday that he's not going to take it...

I'm not even that upset that he's not taking the car, I'm more upset that he didn't just come out and say that 2 1/2 weeks ago. Now I have to go through the whole trying to sell it thing again... If anyone here knows anyone that wants a 1999 Lotus Esprit V8 w/ 3k miles on it for $55,00 let me know!

It's a long shot but send me some info on the car. I have just stepped on to the Elise 111R field.

    Maybe you should change dealers.

The guy has lousy salespeople. No one rotates on a stick for two+ weeks if they are dealing with professional closers.

Agree in full. The longer a salesman waits, the less likely he will put food on the table with the deal. A few days I can see, not more than a week {unless he shows he is waiting for a loan etc....} Some people are just afraid to say "no". Some think they will upset the salesman. And what does jerking his chain do? And even if you piss off the sales guy, what's he gonna do? The buyer has the power, every last drop of it. I just looked at a 300 from Chrysler, they wanted $31,000 for it and as I walked around, I told the salesman {who was younger than me, I'm only 23} that the cheap plastic vents and grill will forever keep me from buying that car. Then I walked away. If anyone in this type of situation should be mad, it's the potential buyer. For me I asked myself "why is this arse wating my time with recond. parts from a Topaz?" "F U bud, get some metal in this car and maybe I won't smack you." :)

So you're on the waiting list for the Elise? Have you heard of when it'll be certified for Canada?

No, you misunderstood my poor English! I am looking into them with intent to purchase. :) I think these cars {Elise} are beautiful. They are sporty in the right places and won't tear apart my chequebook.

As for when they willbe released in Canada, I am waiting on a phone call from the nearest dealer to me, Quebec. When they call I will of course ask this question.

That's why I love it too.

Let me know what you find out, because I'd love to know too. I've heard that it could be in the new year (Jan/Feb '05), but this is third-hand info...
