Guys, do your radios dim when the dimmer switch is adjusted?

I'm installing an aftermarket stereo and can't find a dimmer wire. Can anyone tell me if their radio dims when you turn the dash dimmer switch? Thanks.

 

I am not possitive and to far away to check but. I dont think it did. It was always kinda dim

 

No. Only the gauges dim. My JVC stereo has a separate dimmer setting that is independent of the dash dimmer.

 

I wonder if tapping the stereo dimmer wire into the gauge lights would result in the stereo dimming with the lights?

 

If anyone reads this in the future, you can tap off the yellow wire that goes to the clock if you want to hook up the dimmer function on your stereo. It worked for me.

 

Great information gobble. Where is the dash dimmer switch located ? Silly question I know, but having owned two 355s, I could not locate the feature.
