Congrats George. I just drove by your dealer today, actually.

Curious, do you get the standard commission on that deal?

BTW, looking for a 5-door Focus SVT for a second car. PM me if you hear of anything interesting. Prefer black.

Hmm, I was under the impression this car wasn't going to be Canada-eligible.

How many are currently on Canadian soil? How many are destined for Canada?

And more importantly, how much are they selling for?

Funny..........I have been trying to buy one in Canada ever since it first came out. All of the dealers I talked to said if its coming it won't be for at least 2 years. How did you lay your hands on a contract for one?
The better question is how much is sticker in Canada, and how much did you sell it to him for?

Guys there are many ways of skinning a cat. The GT will be picked-up in Buffalo and it will be serviced there. Like I said if you have the cash we will find a way. I think it's called team work. If any of you want a GT drop me a line and you will be behind the wheel of a GT by spring or summer. Price $215,000 Canadian.

As a side note a chap drop in to look at the new convert. Mustang unfortunately they have not made it to Canada yet anyway the guy order one as I was completing the paperwork we were chat on what other performance cars he had. The guy said he owned a Viper and then a ZO6 vette and a Tahoe Z-71 truck and that is why he needs a new toy. I mention to him he would be better suited behind the wheel of the GT after some more discussion he said he would go home and sleep on it and he said there was a go chance a real go chance that he just might do it. Man it's nice having money.

The commission is not all that great I had to share with a US partner. Officially the deal was made in the US, as many have stated on this thread we can not sell the GT in Canada as of this date, this can change any day the Canadian dates were moved back due to a re-call of all the GT's in the US. (Frame cracks)

I will PM you on your request I am off to day and I don't have access to the pricing from home. We do have factory incentives on the Focus The big But is I don't know if the incentives apply on the SVT. Oh yes if you do want a specific colour and options you may have to wait up to 3 months if we have to order it from the factory. Chances are we can probably locate one on our dealer search network.

After all the problems this car has had at its introduction I do not see why anybody would take a chance on one now. Yes I know the dealers are telling everyone do not worry. Everything is fixed. Everything that was known at the time was fixed but what may still be out there? Saleen, who was in charge of building this car, already has fired several key management people over this car. For me I would wait and see how it does when the owners get the cars out on the road and start to put miles on them.
My recollection is that there were cracks in a suspension member, serious oil leak near a crankshaft seal, cylinder head problems, and something else that I cannot remember. I like the styling of the car and would love to demo one but as for buying, no way not now, especially with the dealers in the US still trying to get $100K over MSRP. Perhaps that will change as the bloom is definetley off the rose.

215K C is about right market wise. These are great cars. BTW check out
"Mustang and Fast Fords" mag. With a pulley change they dropped into the 10's!

Hennesy is offering a 650hp upgrade for 22K that has a 2 year warrantee.

Why would you want one? Because the stock one is 7 sec.'s a lap faster than a 360 at Luguna.

The problems are something they've fixed and it's not like F & L don't have any. All exotic cars have issues. The Shaleen firings have nothing to do with the GT. Shaleen has it's own problems.

napolis: You are uninformed. There was an obvious connection with the firings and the manufacturing problems with this car.

DETROIT -- A management upheaval is unfolding at the supplier that operates the Ford GT assembly plant.

Rich Rinke, the 43-year-old COO at Saleen Inc., is out. CEO Steve Saleen fired Rinke in late January and several other employees in late February.

Saleen Inc. is best known as a West Coast Mustang tuner. But with its experience building the Saleen S7 supercar, the company was tapped by Ford Motor Co. to assemble the GT sports car.

Steve Saleen and Ford say the management changes are not related to the GT program or any of the quality glitches that the sports car has experienced. They also say the changes have not affected GT production, which is rolling again after a seven-week shutdown because of a recalled part.

In an interview last week, Steve Saleen downplayed the significance of the shakeup. "The facts are we made some management changes," he said. "None of them affected the GT."

But the terminations did involve employees who had been involved with the GT project.

Read beteween the lines. You think Saleen is going to admit that he has been having problems with the manufacturing of the car?

Quote" But the terminations did involve employees who had been involved with the GT project.

This cars introduction has been a disaster. Some of these owners paid $100K over MSRP or more. I believe Saleen fired some of those people in response to this debacle. They do not want to lose this "niche" business. Quote: "Tori said Saleen's future with Ford's niche car projects depends on its management of the GT program."

He said: "Opportunities like the GT don't come along that often."

Saleen is a good salesman. Do you always believe everything the salesman says??

What part of the fact that if this press release is untrue, as it states specific information about a public Co., The Ford Motor Co., Steve would be committing a criminal act don't you understand?

Are you accusing Steve of committing a criminal act?

As Ford also is quoted in this press release, as it relates to specific asserations about production problems with one of it's vehicles, are you also accusing The Ford Motor Co. of comitting a criminal act?

i am confused-did you buy the car in the US and resell in canada? $215,000 canadian even with the exchange is far below what the dealers are asking in buffalo. two dealers quote me between $225,000 and $250,ooo. my name was first on the list with one dealer until he mentioned the price.no way -great looking car-but not for that price.i also understand they have already had problems with them.could be some recalls.you watch-the GT will not become a limited run.i will stay with my F430.buffalo ny
