Frequent beer consumption, spending alot of time in front of the computer, and smoking cigars.

    And I'm only 26!

Side note: You'd think it would be a piece of cake to find a .jpg of the "bitter beer face" guy on the web. You'd be wrong!

I hear ya dude...I feel more Greek than anything else at this point...coming up on 10 years of marriage and that fact that I have no allegiance to any of my heritages...but I must say, I am damn proud of it!...in fact, I like you already b/c you are Greek!

chuck the meat in a stinkin hot frypan... it's usually best on a spit, but marinated meat in the pan is good enough.

chuck some onion in late in the game, you want it slightly cooked, but still crunchy.

drink copious amounts of beer to pretend you have a life and have been out partying and need some drunk grub.

put the pita bread on top to give it a bit of a cooking and infuse flavour and fat. :p

cut the meat into little chunks if it wasn't already.

take the pita off, put it on a plate and slather it with Caeser dressing. add a clove of crushed garlic to the sauce and mix it in.

put the meat on, admire your creation, consume your beverage and reward yourself with another. :)

shred the lettuce and chuck it on top, tip some more garlic and sauce on there.

wrap it up and try and eat it without garlic sauce dribbling down your elbows.

Yiros is THE meal of the bachelor, you MUST try it!

(in oz, also known as Doner Kebab in the west, and Souvlaki in the East)

Hey Ash, it looks amazingly like you're actually USING your kitchen! That's pretty scary.

I bet the amount of things in your micro fridge just doubled! :D

no i'm still in Bachelor-Mode, i only buy what i'm going to eat/drink there and then. you can see from that 'shopping pic' what i purchased... i ate all that. :D

as a side-note, those ingredients cost me $12.65 with half an hour spent fetching the ingredients, 20 minutes making it, and... well, i'm a lazy slob so i'm yet to clean it up. a yiros from the local wog-shop is about $8.00 and is ready in about 3 minutes, but i got 2 of them out of it, with sauce and pita bread left over for whatever nefarious purposes.

usually for a single guy the economics of buying vs making dinner werks out far more expensive to make it, plus you have to spend 30-60 minutes preparing crap, then half an hour cleaning up.

as a side-side-note, the six-pack of Stella cost $18 bucks, so food costs don't concern me, going broke because my liver needs a werkout does.

If you ever find yourself in Montreal, seek out "Marathon Souvlaki", preferabley the original location in Laval (a suburb just on the outskirts of Montreal). They have the best souvlaki and donor I have ever had, bar none.

Go two or three countries north and get some gulas. Maybe not as good tasting as those greek foods, but the beer that comes with your meal will be much better!

Gyro is like Lamb or Beef on a rotissery thing. They take a big knife, cut a piece off, put it in a pita with lettuce, sauce, and other toppings.

Slouvaki is pretty much a grilled meat scewer, they put it in a pita with Tzaki sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, jalapenos.
