It will be interesting to see how Mick does against a driver who actually races. Marzipan was a light weight, but now MS has to actually prove himself.

Russian culture overall has a *VERY* macho male expectation, far moreso than others around the world. this mentality clearly permeated the mazepins' involvement, expecting to be the focus of the team, instead of an integral part of the overall team with their own roles (not one of being a shot-caller). Basically they couldn't drop their russian BS at the door and be team players. Good riddance.

Hope the team can bounce back from the crash 2 weeks ago. So far, they seem to really be struggling this weekend.

F1 has always been made up of a pack of thieves. This is the modern version

And yes, I do believe its fair. Its not Haas' fault they had to cut ties.

Don’t get me wrong, I am really happy Gene Haas manage to have good results this year with his team but I don’t get why private person should be sanctioned because of their country leaders misconduct..

This is no different than thousands of other companies who had to pull out of Russian business deals through no fault of their own. Its not political. Its factual. Anyone who has a business deal with a Russian company has to cut ties or face world-wide backlash.

Its not Haas' fault they had to do this. IMO they probably would have liked to keep the deal going but as a global company, Haas had to follow thousands of other businesses doing the same.

Haas keeps the money because its in their contract to do so. I don't see McDonalds compensating franchise owners of restaurants in Moscow.

Is it fair? No, but its reality. Few things in life are "fair".

    Yes they are.
The law is thus completely erased in favour of the balance of power.
    Not new but frankly desirable?

    You can’t reason so simply.
It is a simple matter of law.

Short term maybe; but Hulkenberg is old story.

In almost 200 GPs, for several teams, he never managed a podium.

Like most teams, Haas should bring new blood in F1, and not look at the rejects.

A podium can be earned on luck alone....ask Stroll, Gasly, and Sainz(Mclaren).

Yes, I know, but Hulkenberg can only be a stop gap, not a long term solution; he is already 35.

He never left a lasting impression anywhere: Williams, Force, Force India, Sauber, Force India, Renault, Racing Points, etc ...

Compared to that, Drugovich is about to win the F2 championship and is freelance. I know which one I would chose.

    Agreed on all.

I'm just saying that for next year Hulk would do a better job than Mick. That's why KMag is outdriving Mick as well. Schumacher was better than Marzipan but that's not saying much.

I find it amazing that with so few seats and so many excellent options that some drivers (who have had their chance) continue to be considered year after year. Guys like Hulkenberg, Kubica, DiResta, and others must have special management to keep them in the forefront of teams as viable options.

Small correction :) Mick is a slow improver. He has not shown Ferrari pace or capability. Hence his disconnection from the Marque now. He is at the bottom team. Would you hire him? No I would not.

Nico is a quick implement to the team. More experience and might offer some better feedback - ASSUMING that HAAS can be taken seriously at all as a team to improve. I still have no idea why they are on the grid at all. I get a sense of others like Williams attempting to improve. HAAS is a nice investment vehicle. Not a good team. If ever it will be???????????

Haas is 7th in points, with 34. Williams is 10th, with 4. They finished 10th (0 points) and 8th (23 points) in 2021, so if Haas isn't trying to improve they've screwed up big time :D

sadly I do think Mick needs to go in favor of someone who either they can build the team around long term, or who brings money, preferably not dirty money this time ;)
