    Everyone,

I'm in the process of maybe buying my first Ferrari, a 308GT4. I called Hagarty, and they refused to underwrite me because my condo has underground parking but its open for upto 65 units (i.e. its not enclosed parking for 1 - 2 cars, we have 100 +/- parking spots).

    1) Can I request that they go for an underwrite exception?

    2) Does anyone know of any alternatives for Hagarty that are reasonable?

I have Country Ins. no problems. $171. every 6mo. for full replacement value. So we are getting close to a purchase? Did'nt think you were going to see the car till this weekend? Did you go earlier?

    Cheers!

I just put mine on the Farmers insurance that the rest of my cars are on. It's the cheapest to insure.

I haven't gone to see it, but I spent significant time on the phone with the owner. I want to have my "ducks in a row" when I look at the car so if its a good car, I'm ready. If its not, no harm no foul since I haven't bought the Insurance or anything yet.

    I'll keep the list posted.

Any more insurance suggestions are welcome.

I believe most collector car insurance requires a LOCKED Private GARAGE.

I use Parish Heacock, and they also require a private garage, (or locked building)

I have Farmers as well. It's only a little more than I was paying Haggerty but I have a clause that I can use the car "occasionally" for any use. I think a locked garage is part of the deal.

I've found GEICO to be very easy to work with (did everything online) and the price is as cheap as I've ever imagined it would be for a Ferrari. I will do it again for my next car.

Called at least 3 "speciality" insurance companies, all had the "private locked garage" requirement.

Got a quote from State Farm (had insurance with them for 13 years or so). $275 per 6 months, but I'm fuzzy on the "replacement value" versus "book value" issue.

    Car is a 75 308GT4, I'm 39 with a decent driving record (no at-faults, 1 speeding ticket in last 5 yrs).

ANYONE comment on cost of State Farm?

    ANYONE comment on thier cost?

Anyone had experience with State Farm after an accident in a Ferrari?

I use Grundy insurance and have been really happy with them. Knock on
wood, no accidents/claims so I am not sure how they are to deal with when
    there is a problem.
