I actually had my car totaled this last July due to hail damage. I bought it back from the insurance company for the salvage price. My question is this: does anyone know of any tricks that actually remove hail damage? I have heard everything from heating the area up and then using dry ice on the area to some really stupid/obvious things that wouldn't work.

I know, the best way is paint-less dent removal (not going to happen on this car; it has over 300 dings per square meter or whatever it is...I know that they say that they won't do it if it is over 20.), but do you know of any other methods that might work? I am going to use my totaled car to see if these home remedies actually work.

    Let me know.

Use an electric heat gun and a cold water rag.
Carefully heat the dent in a circular manner around the outside of the dent until it slowly returns to shape, then quickly hit it with the rag.
Please post some before and after pics for us.

Be sure to maintain the circular motion and do not allow the heat gun to remain on one area too long............paint likes to blister with very high heat........If the metal is creased at all it will not come back. The metal has stretched and become misshapen.
