Overfilled that is, yes. By today's gas prices that bill probably would buy half the station. Chelle, yeah, I'm getting tired of all the GTOs driving around downtown, wherever you look there is one. Annoying. Actually I'm quite sure your car will make some waves on and offline.
How big is the tank in that car Bill? Andreas.. plus there's another HUGE mod that I have been wanting to do since day one.. that Haley agreed to last night.. it's a secret till I get it installed.. but will make a huge difference I should have the pieces to do it this weekend Chelle
Hmm, let me guess: You mentioned the stretch, the seats, the engine, RHD and the trim pieces. So what's left? GTO shifter, plastic windows, rear window, fuel filler and rear lights if I remember correctly. Don't remember what your wheels looked like. If I had to pick one, I'd say the rear window. Just a guess. Just make sure you don't end up like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4542881833&category=6212&sspagename=WDVW Sad thing.
oh yuck... no, not like that never like that .. Good Guess btw.. like this? Chelle Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's the ticket: Short window, no more hatchback, real trunk and fuel filler on the left. Somehow the front of that car looks stubby, but might be the wide angle lens.
Hey Chelle, Do you still have 365 trans bits? If so I am going to need the spacer ring that goes in the tail af the trans. It got lost yesterday morning in an accident with my van. Regards, Bill
Bill, sorry no, I sold a spare case and bunch of loose parts. Sent an e-mail just now to the buyer... I don't know what he is doing with the pieces but maybe will get lucky - I'll let you know but if you don't hear from me on it in a day or so remind me k? Chelle
For those of you that don't know, Billiam was involved in a pretty serious car accident the day before yesterday. His van was totalled; and he's hurting physically. Let's all say a prayer for Billiam to have a quick recovery! Skip
OMG... I didn't know ... our prayers are with ya Bill!! goes to show how car people are though huh? Totals the van, is hurt in the crash - doesn't mention it, just makes sure he can post to the list that he lost a part for the transmission... Heal fast Bill, and I'll ask around for the part a couple other places Chelle
A few people were asking about the dry sump pan so here's a few shots. The factory pan was cast aluminum but huge so we modified it. Here's the engine minus pan after Haley cleaned it up Then a pic showing the windage tray Then the pan off the engine so you can see the small sump where the scavenge lines connect. and finally a few with the pan on the engine. In some shots you can see the custom engine mounts we made as well.. Thanx! It doesn't have the history of your stuff, but it does have a story and there are worse things I could do with my spare time Bill, You're welcome - but important question is how are you? need anything? Haley and I are good errand girls for the wounded In fact she's off today at a luncheon the VA set up thanking her and all the other pet therapy volunteers Chelle
Thanks again Chelle, I don't think I need anything, but I really do appreciate the offer and the thought. Bill
Chelle and Hailey, I figured you might need a bit of motivation for your huge endeavour: Coming to a road near you. Taken from the latest Road & Track. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well I suppose I should post another update - thanx for the inspiration Andreas We shouldnt have the "stubby" front end you mentioned. Here's a couple before and after shots of the front of the chassis. This was like a week ago too, the shop is closed today so I can't work Chelle Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well the car is home for us to finish bodywork. We were allowed to do the metal fabrication, welding, grinding, etc there at the shop but they didn't want me doing fiberglass, sanding, or much paint there (I can understand that though - who wants the entire shop covered in itchy fiberglass dust?). Saturday and Sunday I plumbed the car, all the brake lines are done then went crazy trying to get everything that I couldn't do at home out of the way. So now the engine is in to stay, and the car rode home on a flatbed sunday night. Anyway - the next few days I don't have to worry about them locking the doors and making me come home so Haley and I can concentrate on the body of the car and getting it ready for paint. Then it will go for paint, and when it's back we will do the wiring and interior. I know I speak for Haley though when I say I wish we were driving already Chelle Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanx Andreas... it's getting there.... and the subtle and not so subtle changes a really changing the charactor of the car This is when it was waiting to be loaded on the trailer.. disclaimer.. the back window/trunk doesn't look like this yet.. I was bored and playing around in photoshop (just with the back window)... this is the car.. but the back window is not yet modified Chelle Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heh, I was just going to comment on the window on how the fuel filler isn't there yet... The stretched front looks great and I like the RHD. Good to see her again in one piece. Those black front pics with no engines were the saddest so far.
Haley and Chelle, The little steps of progress and the photo by photo of wonderful sights is a neat little read. I think you're doing a fab job and can't wait to see the car this summer. RocketBoy
