That is how every chronograph works.

What I do, I synchronize both second hands together and let the chrono run all the time.

Ha! That's a huge pet peeve of mine. A coworker does it too, and I reach across and stop it all the time. :) I always figure that the minutes/hours functions are having to keep up with the chrono second hand and it wastes energy.

Every chrono I've ever seen uses the big second hand for the chrono seconds. Seems the Citizen is the anomoly :)

I have seen cheap and expensive chronos from Rolex, Tag, Omega, AP, Laco, Luminox, Swiss Army, various Ferrari-branded machines, Ebel, and so on. Many probably use the same movements, i.e., quartz from Ronda or ETA, or Valjoux 7750 or variants but anyway I've never seen a chrono that counts regular seconds with the big hand.

Like all things Ferrari, best left original? ;)

The GT auto is straight time and date, on SS Scud I have yet to use chrono features - perhaps ought to go out and time 308 power windows.

I'd like a replacement with a better clasp but finding one that matches width and case curve might prove difficult.

The width is standard 22 mm on the Gun Scuderia. Curve needs to be cut I guess.

Perhaps replacing the clasp with a metal one is the best solution.

I just happened to log on to the store last Friday (testing out a new cell phone's web browsing) and saw the 70% off headline. Acted quickly and ordered a watch. Delivered within a week (to Canada). For around $200 it is a very nice watch (the black chrono) and the box is very impressive. I like the way the leather band comes right up to the bezel. I don't know if the clasps on the leather band ones differ, but someone mentioned plastic and this one seems to be all metal. It is a bit finicky though and doesn't seem really heavy-duty so I hope it lasts. The other thing is that I was having trouble getting it over my hand with the clasp open (and the strap done-up), then had a closer look at it and realized that the clasp opens at both ends. With it open like that I can't see anyone having trouble slipping it on. You do have to snap both ends closed once the watch is on, but once you get the hang of it, it isn't too bad. So if you are having trouble getting it over your hand, make sure the clasp is fully open.

The only ongoing annoyance I have with the same clasp on my GT auto is squeezing my hand through -the buckle is now set right for my wrist and I don't undo it. I thought the clasp was plastic at first but now think metal. I've worn it a lot and plastic would have worn out by now.

You must have huge hands and tiny wrists. With both ends of the clasp open it is very loose going over my hand; I did have to squeeze it on with only one end open. I don't undo the buckle either; I don't think you are supposed to once it is set, from the way it is designed.

My hands aren't huge but fairly big in proportion to my wrists. I have the buckle set at the fourth hole from the watch end of the strap.

Well, I guess being a Ferrari they have to have their quirks!

I wonder when I'll have to take it in for its first major? :)

I received a rebate code and I tried to use it and it does not work. Anybody had that problem too?

I tried to use it too and I got the green check mark next to the code but it didn't discount my order.

It did the same to me but I found the reason. You have to clic on their link in the email and the rebate is only on specific watches not all of them.

    Thats unfortunate.

Despite Ferraristore claiming 40% of everything, the discount code doesn't work on some of
    the car models....
