    Hey all . . . especially mke

So I've been for a few blasts with the haltech running the efi.

Runs great to around 7k rpm

The A/F ratio is falling from 13 to around 12.5/12 in this range so I was going to play with the map in this area . . . BUT

I also discovered I was having injector saturation at higher rpm's when flooring it . . . I turned off all the throttle pump parameters and it was still happening. Then when I used the data log feature of the haltech, I discovered the injector pulse widths are more than double what the map says they should be!!!!! . . . what's going on here? The engine was all warmed up so the fuel compensation maps should of been making minimal effects to the a/f ratio.

I'm firing every engine revolution, so is the data maybe logging the net amount of fuel injected into the cylinder . . . with perhaps some opening time compensation. I thought this was what it was at first because at WOT pulse widths on the map are around 4.8 ms, logged was around 9.5ms, but at idle map is around 1.5 ms, but logged was around 3.3 ms.

    Thanks,

    Sean

It must be logging per fire not rev...I never notice that before , but if it has truly dumping in 2x the fuel, you'd know :)

What size injectors are you using and what fuel pressure?

I've found that QVs are air pigs...they lose a ton of air out the exhaust port and fuel along with it. That means you need more fuel than you might think...you probably need at least 18 lb/hr injectors at 43 psi. You might be able to get enough out of them if you add 10 or 15 psi to the fuel pressure...much more than that and you should replace the injectors

Thanks for the replies . . . I'll browse the efi site later . . . immediate answer from local Haltech guy is corrupt maps . . . I'm not able to edit any of the maps in 2d so I think he's got me on the right track . . . I'll report back.

Injectors are 30# and I was running at 30 psi and cranked them up to 45 psi when I noticed the high pulse width (which shoudn't be necessary on stock 2V) . . . as you said Mark, I don't think it's actually firing the injectors as long as the data acq thinks it is, but something in the E6 thinks it is which I think is ultimately what is causing the problem at higher rpm.
